Wife and I blew through it Friday night. Terrible.
I saw the title and thought it was a parody of all those thriller movies, like Shriek If I Know What You Did Last Halloween.
Actually if you watched that awful Vinny Chase show the last episode is hilarious

That's not what it is?!??? "Dark comedy" was in the description, so I figured it was an Airplane/naked gun/Don't Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood, kind of show for drunk white women thrillers.
Is that not what it is?

I feel like that is what 90% of their content is.
Thats absolutely what it is. Its a parody of all those Girl on the Train, Woman in the Window, etc etc type books/movies. The first couple episodes don't really give much that its a comedy, but the last 4 episodes or so start to lean into it. We thought it was really fun actually. The huge majority of the bad reviews I've seen have been people that don't realize its not to be taken seriously.Brian Earl Spilner said:

it is....so bad. like indescribably bad...like so bad that anyone that says it's not bad will be added to a Google Keep list and cross-referenced anytime a tv review comes up on this board in the future so as to ensure I never watch anything else that said person recommends.
This show is kooky. LOL.
Wife and I enjoyed it. We watched the entire season in one setting. Just don't take it too seriously and it's enjoyable.

Yep, I get that, and there were genuinely funny scenes like that ridiculously sudden love scene. I think that the satire/parody was just a bit too subtle and suddenly ramped up.

I loved it, but you have to know what it is before you start. Kristin Bell basically plays a satire Veronica Mars, trapped in a psychological thriller novel.

I hope so! I wouldn't want my terrible taste in one of the few mindless series, that I can actually get my wife to watch (in opposition to never ending reality shows and documentaries), to tarnish your highly refined palate. This is a parody. Will Ferrell is an executive producer. If you don't know it is a parody going into it you will probably have a bad time. Hell, you'll probably have a bad time even knowing it's a parody. But probably worse time if you dont know.

I watched the whole thing and didn't realize it was a parody, so there's that. Maybe because I don't watch many horror flicks to know what was being mocked? Or more likely because I was looking at it entirely as a mad hallucination, similar to "I am the Cheese", which it didn't turn out to be. So it wasn't easy to go back through and recalibrate.
A lot of things make more sense now, but still thought it was dumb.

It was absurd, in a good way. Loved it. Can't wait for season 2. I do think if anyone but Kristen Bell was the main character I might not have liked it.
It was intentionally more and more absurd; I was rolling at some of the things happening in the last 2 episodes.
Also that tiny little girl wielding the knife is the thing of nightmares

We watched it last night all at once, and liked it. Not sure I got "comedy" out of it, but it was definitely the theater of the absurd.
