I thought that Gus was initially looking for companionship but then remembered he was just gut shot and that would not be an easy thing to explain. So he bailed.

They even showed Gus standing poolside at the end of the scene at Don Eladio's. It was clear to me he was thinking about the death of Max at this very spot.

Once that was all done, he was finally able to let off some steam after many stressful weeks of worrying about Lalo, so he went out for some wine, had a little flirt, and then decided it was best to get back to business.

Nothing too complicated going on here.

So the wine scene, which I also though dragged out a bit, was showing the side that Gus has a desire for a new wiener in his life, but both the discipline and the hate to not let it happen because it's ultimately a risk and a distraction. The guy is consumed by his hate for Eladio and Hector and he's not gonna let anything else get in the way of his plan

I thought opening montage was great. The sign going up in Sauls office with his excited (at the time) secretary was great. And so was the wiping up blood turning into Saul wiping gravy on his tortilla.

When Gus gets home and opens his blinds - he is done hiding. When he walks down the stairs to the tunnel in between the houses it looked just like Walter walking down the basement stairs to check on handcuffed Crazy 8. Not sure if deliberate or not.

Hector dinging away as they carried him off and then Don Eladio mocking him!

Did people in the firm not know Howard and his wife had been separated- and that's why the wife ran out when Kim subtly asked "how did you not notice" and then Cliff confirming the odd behavior. Man how did that long con pay off?!

They focused on both Jimmy and Kim placing their glasses on the stair hand rail as they went to see Cliff and the widow - thought they would fall and break and cause a scene which is what they didn't want to do - but nothing happened.

Title of the episode was Fun and Games. The reason the relationship worked finally totally came together as Kim was leaving. That's what made it work - Fun! And it wasn't fun anymore.

Have no idea what's in store next episode - is there really anything else to wrap up from the Kim - HHM timeline? Kim is now gone and so is HHM and Lalo.

ETA: What is everyone's thoughts on the wine scene with Gus? Did he ever open that bottle he said he bought in an episode of BB that I don't recall or is he saving for a special occasion for an event to take place in one of the last four episodes? I'm guessing the completion of the lab would be cause for celebration.
I was thinking the same thing, so I went back and re-watched the scene where Walt goes over there for dinner and was just waiting for Gus to casually mention that bottle of wine by name because of course the writers would do that, but alas. Tried again with the scene when Jesse goes over there, but they're drinking white in both instances.

Side note: I forgot that when Walt goes over to Gus's house and they're making that stew, Gus mentions how he's excited to get to make it because "the kids don't eat it." Did Gus have a family this whole time and I never knew it?
There has always been speculation that Ernesto was Gus' son.

Eladio telling Gus he had to leave because he didn't want his breakfast ruined by dinging may have been my favorite part of the episode

And with the onslaught of commercials it really felt like just 6 scenes instead of 1 episode.
I have no qualms in saying I torrent this show and I'm glad I do. Screw AMC.

Also speaking of the long con - if you have been following Patrick Fabian (Howard) on Twitter or Instagram- there were always pics of him doing outdoor stuff, including his profile pic. Lo and behold all of those pics were on display during his memorial service!!

Don't forget Don Eladio also met his fate by poisoning at the hands of Gus, and ended up drowning in the same pool.

How great that Lalo went to those extreme lengths to fake his death so he could ultimately ruin Gus, yet it was that action that became Gus's alibi. Oops

The wine guy was talking about how the high end wine from Italy tasted like blood from the iron in the dirt.

Considering that Gus's focus as soon as Lalo was out of the way was to restart construction on the lab, I assume that the Blood & Dirt connection made him think of something related to the lab.

For those complaining, I don't know what else to tell you. This episode wasn't hard to telegraph, seeing as I pretty much explained exactly what was going to happen before it even aired, and, as I've been saying to anyone who will listen for a while now, Kim was never going to get vacuumed or killed.

Because it was ALWAYS about Jimmy and Kim's emotional journey.

Kim HAD to come to the conclusion she did in order for them to be reunited in any kind of even remotely satisfying fashion in Nebraska, post-Breaking Bad. To that end, I thought this episode was PERFECT. The way their relationship ended, splitting up but still with "I love you"s is going to make their reunion so much more poignant than I ever thought it could be. I was legit expecting some kind of resentment there, and that their reunion would be bittersweet, and while it might still be bittersweet, that spark is still also alive and now I can't wait even more for them to see each other again.

And then the time jump, at exactly that moment, was so f-ing brilliant. I thought we'd get it between episodes, but this was so much better and so much more devastating.

I seriously don't understand how people didn't like this episode, or why anyone could need anymore thrills than we got last episode.

I just though tonight was incredible.
During the scene where Kim and Jimmy are BSing to Howard's widow, I was thinking either they are really that terrible of people and this didn't faze them, or this is truly the final straw for Kim. And it was. The scene in the garage followed by Kim at the court hearing were just brilliant.

And yes, the time jump was perfect in a devastating way. Like that's it. Kim leaves and we're done. BCS timeline over. After all that. I was holding out hope there would be more storyline in future episodes but I think that's it.

Man, I cannot get enough of this show. So good!

I thought he was gay

He is. Max was his lover and I got the impression he was starting to get some feelings for the wine guy which is why he abruptly left.

I really liked this episode. I guess I'm in the minority. With the way Kim left I'm even more convinced now that she's in Nebraska. We will see her again. I'd bet my life on it.
He is? Who is Max?? My memory is apparently shot.

The Chicken Man's chicken "brother". That's why it's Los Pollos Hermanos.

Actually creates a continuity error. Those Cobb cycling shorts he was wearing in one of the pics… Cobb as a company wasn't founded until 2008.
