How did the box stay there on the loading dock so long when the manager got so pissed about it? Did I miss something while reading an email?

Who was Saul talking to in the car in the teaser at the end? Kim?
It has to be Kim.

I thought it was pulled from the speech when they were sitting on the bed after Howard was carted off.

Some of you are the absolute worst. The complaints in this thread read like such entitled nonsense from a bunch of temper-tantrum-throwing snowflakes.

First of all, for the dozenth time, Better Call Saul - the show - is over. It's done.

This is the epilogue.

Therefore, since the Better Call Saul story is already complete, there can be no "wasted" episodes, if for no other reason than there's no story left to waste.

Further, to anyone who thinks that the buildup of Gene flash-forwards over the seasons was a "waste" as well, simply because the cab driver is now out of the picture, clearly hasn't been paying attention to this show for five seasons now. Because it was never about some random cab driver from Albuquerque outing Gene.

It's clear now that it was all a buildup to finally get Gene's Saul juices flowing again.

That's what the whole thing with the shirt and tie was there at the end. Gene now has the Saul bug and he's not going to be able to stop. Gene can't quit Saul, which, I'm guessing, will be his ultimate undoing in the three episodes to come. Unless Kim is there to somehow save him from himself, seeing as that's what the entire thematic premise of both BCS and BB has always been - the idea that *we* are our own worst enemies. Not Gus, not the cartels, and certainly not some random cab driver. Saul has always been Jimmy's worst enemy, he just reared his ugly head once more, and they could not have handled that any more brilliantly. In other words, Jimmy/Gene can run from criminals, the law, and whoever else, but he can't run from himself.

I mean, this is literally one of the best-written shows in the history of television, one that's *already* given us a phenomenal final season. And for some of you, the *instant* you think they wasted an hour on what was otherwise a fantastic episode of television, you start b*tching and moaning as if the filmmakers somehow faltered now, here at the homestretch, when A) they haven't let us down yet, and B) you're the ones failing to see the meaning behind tonight's episode.

He revealed the Walt/Jesse thing before the season because they knew that's all anyone would be asking in every interview, so they decided to get it out of the way up front, knowing the show had so many more surprises to come (his words). Pretty savvy if you ask me.

Couldn't disagree more. Instead, people have been waiting for them to pop up all season and are probably disappointed each time they don't.

What are you talking about? I don't know of a single person who has been waiting for Walt and Jesse to pop up in the 2004 timeline. I mean, Jesse was in *junior high* at the time. Otherwise, the only time any of us expected we might see them was at the very end of the last episode, there in Saul's office.

Try re-reading the rest of what you wrote after the bolded part. You seem to be the only one throwing a temper tantrum. Some of us just thought it was a boring episode with poor placement. Lighten up, Francis.

It's like not everyone has the same opinions all the time. No reason to get this worked up about it.

I didn't see anyone do this when you posted your dislike of Nope.

I really enjoyed it. Everything about this show just captivates me: the way it's shot, scenes that have unclear meaning until later in the episode, the attention to detail, the way Jimmy wins people over with his folksiness while scheming them. So yeah, I loved it even though it was a bit of a bottle episode and didn't advance things a ton. Who doesn't love a good heist? Plus Larry Gergich and college football talk!

But I'm not gonna lecture you guys if you didn't like it.

Some of y'all have horrible opinions.

This is literally the first episode where we don't know what will happen.

We knew Gus lives.
We knew Saul lives.
We knew Kim leaves the picture.
We knew Nacho doesn't live.
We knew Hector lives....

Etc etc etc.

We don't know what happens to Gene.

I thought the shirt scene could also be interpreted as him hanging Saul up and knowing he can't fully go back to his old ways, while also comforted by the fact he still has "it."

There were also some really great tidbits in tonight's episode and some hilarious lines as well. And as usual, Jimmy is at his most honest when he's in the middle of a con.

Obviously just Walt in the Jimmy timeline, and then Walt/Jesse last week and again this week. You clearly know what I mean.

Point being, there is absolutely zero reason to spoil that before the season even starts, when it wouldn't even be seen until the end of the season. Especially considering they literally flew them out to ABQ in secret, and kept them under blankets and stuff so they wouldn't be photographed.

Why go through all that trouble and then spoil it anyway? Doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

Wait, so you expected Walt and Jesse NOT to show up together, at the same time? As in Walt would show up in 2004 and then Jesse would show up in 2008? Even though you knew they filmed their scenes at the same time? That would be the most underwhelming thing ever.

I definitely was expecting in the first 15-30 mins for them to come back from commercial in color and in the BB timeline. I thought they'd set up the con, but not show the payoff until a future episode. It will be interesting to see where they pick up next week.

Honestly, the thing I was rooting for the most this episode was just one, off-handed mention of A&M amongst all the Nebraska/Big XII talk. There were so many chances, too. It would have been the perfect marriage of show and thread and this place would have absolutely lost its mind.

I don't disagree with the thought that it moved the story forward, but I disagree with the approach of coming in here to reprimand everyone who disliked the episode.

Just because it moved his character along doesn't mean it has to be universally enjoyed.

I'm somewhere in the middle, to be honest. Didn't love it, didn't hate it. But the way your post comes off is like a nutty fanboy.

I never really like the BCS episodes that don't deal directly with Breaking Bad story lines. The episodes with Mike, Gus and the Salamancas are always great. The ones centered around his sibling rivalry or his depressing life up in Nebraska are just boring. I hope, at the very least, that they can tie this back into the main story line somehow.

This episode would have been fine in season 4 or 5, or maybe the first half of this last season. But what did it do to advance the story when it's almost finished? Nothing.

A good chef can put a turd in front of me, but that doesn't mean I have to think it's a Baby Ruth just because he's served me good meals before. As episode 10 of 13 in the last season, this was a turd.

You'll see how it advanced the storyline when we come back to Gene in a future episode. There's no way this was the last we've seen of him.

TCTTS,

It took me like 2 days to come to grips with the fact that we had seen the end of BCS already. That quick time jump from Kim leaving him to waking up with the prostitute….it hit me hard. Then they end with Saul sitting at his desk looking forward with his " best lawyer" coffee mug. That was the closing shot.

Sherman used to call those little QB pooch punts more than most coaches ever have. Too far out to kick a FG, but he was so so conservative. Pretend we were going for it when you knew we weren't and then RT backs up and just pooches it 20 yards.
