I wonder if these networks care how badly they kill the viewing experience with 8 commercial breaks.
Never watching live again (2 more episodes, brave of me)

Without the Walter/Jesse cameo or Kim mention, tonight's episode is average. Hope the last 2 pick up the pace.

The commercial breaks are not as bad as the fact they output at the lowest bitrate/quality you can find of any network.

The AMC+ deal for 99 cents a month came in clutch. Happy to be done with crappy AMC after Better Call Saul finishes.

I usually just start it 30 minutes late, fast forward through the commercials, and finish on time.

Dude-let it go.

Tonight's episode was night and day between last week imo. And as most opined since last week and correctly so as it turns out, the slow burn of the previous one was a very necessary setup for this episode (even though some of us didn't enjoy last week as much).

Tonight was all around perfect in every way. Cannot wait to see what the final two bring us.

Though I liked both the last 2 weeks I question the sanity of anyone who enjoyed tonight more than last week.

My opinion. Last week's episode was much better than this week's.

Tonight felt like a good set up.

I really enjoyed that episode, it had so many layers to it. The s floats back to the past were all corollary, showing how he is making the same mistakes, the foreshadowing or just symbolism of that grace turning into him in his bed, the desperation of wanting his old life back with Francesca (awesome scene btw), incorporating the old world and the new so seamlessly (the Walter and Jesse look about 30 years older), the filling in of old BB scenes, the tease with Kim, and not the setup to the fall (apparently) next week.

Just really well done, even if it wasn't a fast high pressure epsiode.

Francesca got her phone call! And yay for Mike! The opening scene was greatness although I wish they somehow could have kept their cameos a secret. I imagine we will see them again. That Kim phone call confuses me although now we know she's in Florida. I wonder how Gene knew.

Don't want to jinx it, but the AMC+ app has stayed logged in to my Roku for several weeks now. Don't get me wrong it still crashes, but I haven't had to log back in. I did find a couple series to watch during the break, but not enough to justify keeping it. I too am dumping it after the last episode.

Great episode. I feel like they pretty much answered all of our questions over the last week in the first 10 minutes, including "Whatever happened to Huell?"

Loved the Cranston/Paul cameo as well as the double entendre in the episode title. My initial reaction was that the Jimmy who tried to talk Kim out of moving forward with the Howard plan when he found out the mediator was in a sling would be a little more cautious about breaking into that dude's house at the end, but I guess they did a pretty good job of showing that he literally has nothing left to lose.

...Either that or the whole thing was a headfake. With these writers, I could easily see him getting away just fine from the house he broke into, and the cop car we saw in the "scenes from the next" is completely unrelated. And maybe Kim told him she loved him and was coming to see him but then added that another of his shell companies got seized, which is what prompted the reaction we saw in the payphone. Feels weird to say that I have no idea how they're gonna fill 2 more episodes given all the plot lines that have already been tied up, but I can't wait to see how this series ends.

We all have our opinions. I don't see how anybody could think last week held a candle to this week's when we get the Walt/Jesse appearances, first mention of Lalo by Jesse and him not knowing who he is and saying nobody talks about him on the streets, Mike brushing off Walter White to Saul as an amateur nobody and to not waste his time, and the revelation to Gene that Kim asked about him and he seems to know where she is in Florida.

Not to mention the whole Gene breaking and entering thing setting up the cops to come in the next episode.

Almost feels like I'm being trolled at this point.

Only a few thousand votes so far, but IMDB has tonight's episode at a 10.0. Last week's was an 8.6, which was third lowest of the season. Will be interesting to see how they level out.

The episodes were similar, and last week's was a great intro to this life of Gene (falling into his old Saul ways), but tonight's provided much more depth into his descent.

Most of those points are night before Christmas gifts for a different show imo.

While it was nice to see them, I couldn't care less about Jesse and Walt in this show. It isn't their story and Aaron Paul sounded awful. I'm not upset we saw them but to each his own. I do get why many will enjoy this episode for that alone.

Last week was the epitome of Better Call Saul, imo. This week was fan service.

I initially guessed the phone booth conversation (I assume we hear the audio in final 2 episodes) was pertaining to one of the following, in decreasing order of likelihood

1) Kim talked to him and said she had to tell the authorities about call
2) Kim talked to him but said she never wanted to see him
3) Whoever took the call wouldn't let him talk to Kim

But after thinking about it after episode, I think the most likely thing is someone told Saul she was swept up in the investigation and sent to jail.

All money, gone. Kim, in prison. Life boring and a mess. Nothing to lose.

And I was wondering how writing staff would handle an ending for Saul, it seems they love him as a character and they gave Jimmy so much depth throughout the series. But showing him having zero quit in stealing from a terminally ill guy, a guy who did not come across as an ******* at all, kinda tips the writers's hand I think.

Really enjoyed both. This show has just never really been the frenetic BB pace, but it still feels like folks are expecting it to become that

Walt and Jesse cameos were the worst kept secret. Everyone was expecting that. Kim was a nice surprise and I'm excited to see where that ends up

Last week was an excellent 'flip the switch' to gene not being able to stay removed from his past. The heist buildup with Gerry was phenomenal.

Tonight wasn't bad and we're all entitled to our opinions, but it felt expected after Walt and Jesse were teased for God knows how long and the scamming continues

Well the show runners explicitly said they'd be in the season before it started so it wasn't a secret at all.

I took that convo to mean Kim told him he shouldn't contact her and she'll have to report it. She's moved on. Completely. He's poison.

I'm not sure what they could have got her on, but something about the call pissed him off/frustrated him and if she said she was turning him in he couldn't have run that multi month scam afterwards.

That was my first guess, and she still could have said she wanted no contact and wanted to move on - but I don't think she would have said she'd report him. That scam involving multiple victims took months after the call to Florida.

First, I'm not as eloquent as a lot of the posters here.

Through all the series, and also BB, I did have a soft spot for the BCS character (pick your name for him.)

This episode manifests his true character (at some point your past treatment isn't an excuse.)

I don't mean report a specific crime. I just mean report that a fugitive made contact with her. Doesn't matter. IMO it was pretty clear she wants nothing to do with him and that's all that does matter

I'm sure she still cares about him. But you can care for someone and still realize they are poison for you and can't be in your life in any way. That's basically where she was already the moment she left.

I was hoping to catch some of Saul's audio in the booth in the rerun

I'm sure someone will find a way to decipher some of his conversation before the last 2 episodes
