I would say being horribly unethical plus committing acts that eventually led to the death of a former colleague. Getting a completely fresh start and new life.

ETA: though it does seem weird for her to burn that bridge. One would think if you don't want to be a lawyer anymore, then just stop practicing, like people do in real life. She was like nope, I am making this official.
I think I was forgetting the unethical "while on the clock" activities, such as the fake video to manipulate the Sandpiper hearing and Howard's reactions. Breaking in to Kevin's house to manipulate Mesa Verde activities.


But she worked so hard, against the odds, to become a lawyer and she was an effective one. To discard that, and a husband, on the same day and leave - one in real life might worry about her harming herself. She has pretty much disassociated herself from her identity in one day.

I was guessing it was most likely she would leave of her own volition, but I assumed she'd still be a lawyer focusing on indignant cases and "doing good" in the legal profession to right her wrongs.

I interpreted Gus' leaving as being prompted by this remark. He was enjoying a really great glass of wine, savoring the flavor until the sommelier mentioned the taste of blood and dirt. That ruined the moment for Gus, so he left.

That was how I took it, that she felt like she had basically betrayed the profession and didn't deserve to be one.

I agree. And she disbarred herself while she felt so sure of it, so later she couldn't go back.

They'll be reunited in Omaha. I don't think it'll be permanent, but I do think we/they will get a nice, fleeting reunion. Enough to be able to fully close that book, at least in terms of the emotional arc of the series.

Seriously, though, we're only two episodes in. And yes, BCS, for all intents and purposes, is basically over. But they were always going to try and connect it to BB as much as they could, and they were always going to revisit Omaha and wrap up that timeline. So what else were you expecting, exactly?

So what's the prediction on Saul's fate in Omaha? I expect a Kim reunion, but I'm thinking he gets caught - maybe after a taste that he might have some hope to be with Kim again. He gets some "here's how we can live happily ever after" scheme in his head, but then just as he thinks it's about to work, it gets ripped away

On that, I have absolutely no idea. I can't tell if, in the eyes of the filmmakers, Jimmy is still in need of comeuppance (in the form of jail), or if being separated from Kim / being vacuumed was comeuppance enough. Or, it might not even be about comeuppance at all. I seriously have no clue, but the scenario you just laid out sounds about as plausible as any.

Might have been my favorite episode of the series. From the point of the scene with Cheryl it was just so hard to watch. And I loved how they cut straight from Kim leaving to full on vain Saul. Was easily the most emotional scene in the whole BB universe, because Jimmy still had hope and some decency underneath, but she broke him. Now whenever you see Saul you know why he is who he is, no one else is getting in to hurt him.
It's funny, I thought this was the one path for her they wouldn't take because it would be too simple or melodramatic, but as always, they did it right.

And not exactly going out on a limb but I will bet big money it's not the last we see of Kim.

Who exactly does Jimmy fear in the Gene timeline? Everyone is dead. All Salamancas, Eladio, Bolsa, Gus, Tyrus, Mike, Lalo, Nacho, the biker gang / Todd, Walt. I guess maybe the law but who will prosecute him and why?

Definitely the law, but I honestly can't remember what he did, specifically, to warrant needing to be vacuumed. As in, I can't remember what law(s) he broke. Aiding and abetting a criminal/murderer (Walter)? Working under the table for Gus?

I think he got drug down when Walt's empire collapsed. He was a big part of Walt's business and an investor. Remember he was the one that approached Walt in his classroom, after school let out one day, when Walt was getting out and trying to go straight and persuaded him to start cooking again.

He was laundering money for a criminal organization that also killed 2 DEA agents. He was so involved that he would pretty much be considered right there with Walt

Ah, yes. Thanks for the reminders on both accounts. I knew it was bad, I just couldn't remember the specifics. So, yeah, the law would definitely still be after him, and I'd image he'd ultimately spend quite a long time in jail if caught.

My guess is he finds where Kim lives, drives to her house but before he gets out he sees her putting food on the table for her husband and kids through the window.

He sits there for a while and then bails to some podunk town in Oklahoma where he gets beaten up at a veterans hall after being accused of stealing, gives his car to a random, makes his way to a California retreat where he overcomes some issues, breaks down in group therapy and the show ends with him doing yoga while dreaming up the perfect con.

Yeah, I thought that part was well done too. The question the last six years has been how does Jimmy become Saul. He was always a con man, but he had some humanity too. He was hanging on to the last bit of it through Kim, and when she walked out there was nothing to stop his transformation. No further explanation needed.

Got around to watching all 57 minutes last night - can't believe some of yall watch that hour of television and then state "Nothing happened" LOL what?

The good thing about watching AMC+ is no commercials - this show is best digested uninterrupted. I wouldn't torment yourself to watching live the rest of these episodes - record or AMC+ and watch it front to back.

Because you would've noticed the amount of screen time that that Kim had until she finally spoke that episode. It wasn't until the memorial and about ~60% of the way through that she said her first lines. You could tell the entire episode it was eating at her, while Jimmy was coming to terms much more quickly.

One of the better cold openings this season and this series. Between the music and the intertwining of the 'clean-up' - that was pretty amazing.

The commercials felt especially intrusive on this episode, and I could fast forward through them by starting it half an hour late.

The wine scene was so out of the blue that I figured it must have special significance.

To me, it seemed Gus finally relaxed a bit - raised the blinds, felt safe for the first time in a long time. He then indulged himself with what he has always envisioned himself becoming - rich and cultured.

He goes to the bar to revel in that some and talk wine with his favorite sommelier. He really enjoys it, perhaps feeling happy for the first time in forever.

But the talk of blood and earthiness reminds him he has much work to do to reach his ultimate objective. So a few hours of reveling is all he allows himself before he turns back to the tasks before him.
