I don't think she canceled it outright. I remember reading that she said she was unhappy with it and just needed more time, but that was the day before opening night
I for one am absolutely THRILLED he canceled.
I was scheduled to attend, I had been roped into going through my wife's company. We were gonna be in a box with free food and drink and a night away from the baby. None of that made up of the absolute agony I would be in having to listen to the absolute garbage come from the speakers. I am gleeful over the cancelation.

Kind of a straw man argument. How many people booked non refundable flights and hotels for this specific show? Cancel hotels, get airline ticket credit, get concert tickets refunded. He also plays what, 75 shows a year? There will be plenty more times to see him. I don't understand why anyone would go that far out of their way to see this guy, but to each their own. It's not like this is some generational talent country star playing his last few shows.
All that being said - it's ridiculous that he didn't even go to UNC lol. Definition t-shirt fan. Probably likes the sips and the Cowboys and Yankees too.

What are you calling a straw man? I would never make plans to attend a concert like this, but if I did it would put a pretty annoying imposition on me to have to change my plans less than a week out. Even if I can get refunds.
Straw man in the sense that the amount of people who planned a whole non refundable once in a lifetime destination trip to San Antonio for this particular show is very likely zero.
I wouldn't guess there's too many people that made San Antonio, of all places on his tour, their can't miss location. If it were Red Rocks or something, maybe. But any fan willing to fly somewhere and book hotels for an Eric Church concert could pick any other location on this tour. Sure, everyone's circumstances are different, but he's still touring extensively all over the country.

As noted in this article, easily the worst part of the pandemic has been its ok to cancel concerts. This has happened a ton, this is just the most high profile.
We were supposed to go to a show in nov, but it was cancelled, no reason why, just refunded, crew took the week off, then was right back at it. Assume it was poor sales, but still really annoying and makes you lose respect/have no desire to buy tickets early.
