This is, as usual, an incredibly dumb/not at all accurate post.

This thread reminds me why I always hate all the Twitter reviews tctts posts. They are always so over the top and borderline orgasmic about movies so often that every time I read them and then see the movie they are talking about I am extremely let down. Finally watched this last night and while it was cool and all, it wasn't odins gift to filmmaking or anything. Above average certainly, but I doubt I will be giving it a second look. Unfortunately, my expectations were way too high after reading this thread so long ago right before the movie first came out.
You read the whole thread, or just the seriees of over the top twitter reviews? The thread should have tempered your expectations

Remember the Green Knight?

Sea Speed is just calling a spade a spade. A certain poster phallates an upcoming movie, if it's good, he says "see!" and posters applaud him. If its meh "well its not for everyone, us in the industry appreciate it," and posters just nod their head and say they too see the emperor's clothes. If its trash "well, it had all the right pieces, just poor execution" posters just shrug, take the explanation, and extend the head coaching contract another 5 years with guaranteed money.
You're a moron. He shares twitter reactions for every release just about

Yea...its all "this is the greatest film evar" tweets.

Ffs, who has time to run to Twitter and get opinions of all these jackwagons, then run over here and post em. When it's summer or Christmas releases he is linking a metric shtton of blowhard tweets.

And now he sits back and takes no responsibility for his hyping. "All I was doing was sharing tweets, never negative tweets, it's up to you to discern beforehand. Sorry you think I thought it was going to be good, you're too dumb to parse what I post from what I say."

I've said countless times to take the tweets with a grain of salt. Over and over and over again, for years now. Also, they're mostly from people I already follow. And since it's announced ahead of time what time reactions will drop, I take maybe 15 minutes after said drop time and post them here, simply acting as a filter to what "Film Twitter" thinks of any given movie. I post them when they're good and I post them when they're bad. I thought I was providing a service that many people here seem to enjoy, and it continues to blow my mind that curmudgeons such as yourself take issue with it. It's so hilarious. Especially coming from someone who has spent countless hours defending the Russian invasion of Ukraine on this site. Talk about a pathetic time-waster…

Posting is posting, whether its posting twitter reactions to movies or posting your own inane thoughts. And you contribute just as many if not more posts than TCTTS does. So you trying to insinuate he's pathetic for the amount he posts is hilarious and shows just how much you're grasping at straws to fling insults his way. At least his posts contribute something to this board. You on the other hand.....

Reading comprehension is hard. I'm accusing him of finding reacts on another platform, then running here with them and posting them to hype. My posting, like it or loathe it, is written by yours truly. I don't get to sit back and say "well I was just relaying these opinions of people I follow and continue to trust their judgments on."

And if you want to talk volume of posts by all means, click our user profiles. I'm not flinging insults, I'm criticizing. The distinction is important but lost on people. "Any negativity is an attack!!!" No it fkin isn't.

Although I would point out the nonsequitars thrown my way in the last dozen posts are quite amusing and are, indeed, insults.

Seriously, are you illiterate? How many times do I or others have to say that I don't "hype" the tweets. I post *all* the ones I see, on my feed, good or bad. Also, simply reading my posting history around the times these tweets drop will tell you that I often caveat them/say to take them with a grain of salt. How many more times are you going to ignore this fact or that I'm saying it here, yet again, in this thread? How many more times are you just going to make up completely false narratives in attempt to drag me, yet in the process show how little you actually pay attention?

It's just so obvious that truth or accuracy are never what you're about. You're basically a glorified troll who I'm continually shocked shows his face around here after the beatings you've taken on this site, for the crap you post here, and especially in the Ukraine war thread on F16. Then again, you've never had any shame, so I guess it's not that surprising at all.

Based on what I saw in the previews, this movie takes place in an endless twilight. They spent $90 million on making it, and no lightbulbs over 15 watts were used. Ok.

Eggers seems to like shooting movies with few "bright" scenes. This movie looks great though on a good screen in a darkened room, zero issues at all seeing what's shot. I can see this type of movie not being everyone's cup of tea, but technically speaking it's a really solid movie.

I said, I think, pages back after seeing it at the cinema, that some people were going to watch it wanting the Vikings History Channel as a movie and this just isn't meant to be that. I loved it, for what it was.

I will say I loved the scene of the berserker around the campfire when their leader guy was standing in front of the fire and they were around it. The was an awesome looking shot.

Nailed it. Tctts promoted threads have become a red flag for massively overrated shows/films

Don't really care about the tweet discussion just want to say this movie kicked ass. All due respect to Revenge of the Sith it's got the greatest volcano sword fight in all of cinema.

If that's your criteria (any thread where TCTTS posts his own positive thought or good critical reviews) then you're going to miss a lot of seriously good films and tv shows. Go ahead and try to tell me that Andor or Succession or The White Lotus are massively overrated, just to name a few recent awesome shows off the top of my head.

my issue isnt with TCTTS, it is with the over the top critics who act like anything they like is some epic the likes of which has never been seen before. The hyperbole is just too much. I guess that is basically the same with all media and headlines these days. Everything has to be the best or worst ever.

I agree with this and think your last two sentences are the key. In today's sea of online information and people's 5-second attention spans, if you're involved in the media in any fashion you have to be hyperbolic to attract clicks.
