If I'm picking a whole album I would say Slayer "Reign in Blood" barely beats it. It's closer to 1A 1B

It's less then 30 minutes and I had the cassette and both sides were the same. I would listen it it and as soon as Raining Blood was done I would flip it and start it over.

If they would remaster And Justice For All, I would pick it over Master of Puppets

do you mean remixed? they'll never do that.. you can get it on youtube though.. and jason for all or something like that.
Or if you mean guitar tone.. there are examples of AJFA songs recorded in various other styles of metallica albums on youtube as well.

I go more by albums I could put on the turn table and play from beginning to end without skipping anything. Anything from Metallica's first four albums. Judas Priest: Sad Wings of Destiny, British Steel, Point of Entry and Screaming for Vengeance. AC/DC: '74 Jailbreak, Back in Black, For Those About to Rock. Iron Maiden: Number of the Beast, Piece of Mind and Power Slave. Black Sabbath: Anything from the Ozzy years. DIO is awesome, but, better as a solo artist.

I could add the first two Ozzy albums.

meh.

Reign has no dynamics. It's 100% the whole time. The solos are mostly noise and unforgettable.

Intro to battery, then into battery, then MOP with its middle section, then the slow dirge of thingy, then a breather on welcome home, then an 8 min thrasher, then the weakest song yet still better than most metal, then the instrumental, then the trippy Cliff intro and thrasher ending?
Timeless melodies and solos.

MOP just can't be touched.

I agree! "Reign in Blood" = All killer, No filler. No ****ing middle section or breather. I'll listen to Master of Puppets if I want one of those things.
