I loved the original. Glad to see some of the same actors this.

Gonna miss Madmartigan

Pretty sure i've seen him around the forums...

Warwick Davis truly is a legend. Hasn't he surpassed the average age of a little person by about 30 years? Jesus...

Too bad her character is transitioning in the remake

Val Kilmer felt the same, he married her after they finished filming.

Even though she kicked him in the face.

Funnily enough I think watched this 100 times as a kid but haven't seen it in at least 10-15 years. My parents tell me it was my first movie obsession as a toddler.

Wow. There's no way my kids could handle the death dogs, Karl and the trolls/three headed dragon.

My mom gave the novelization of it sometime after it came out. I read it about a dozen times but because all entertainment wasn't instantly on-demand I didn't finally get to see it until probably a decade later. It's one of my favorite movies but I really worry that this will fail by trying to create new stories in someone else's created world.

I pretended I was Mad Marttigan as much as I pretended I was Luke Skywalker as a kid. 100% on first crush being Sorsha

I can barely remember Willow other than knowing I thought it sucked but by 1988 this was a little below me in target age.

Kilmer was still very cool. Joanne Whalley was next level beautiful, no doubt. Surprised her career didn't go further.

But Willow sucked.

I won't say it sucked. In fact, early in the summer of '88 when it came out, I thought it would be the best movie I would see that year.

Then about a month later, the true best movie of '88 was released: Die Hard.

I re-watched Willow a couple of years ago. It was a big bag of meh. Visual effects, especially that dragon, were awful or just not well done. Still liked the Madmartigan character, and the dude who wore the skull helmet. The gal is purty, but that's it for me on her character. Hated the queen. What a *****.

There was something that bothered me about Willow at the time it came out. I couldn't really put my finger on it until 2001, when I saw The Fellowship of the Rings. Looking back on it, Willow seems to have been heavily inspired by the far superior Tolkien works, but I'd not read the books until after those movies came out although I was aware of what they were about.

It's 2022 Disney. Their job is to punish you, not entertain you. They've altered the deal.

Perhaps it says something about my family and also that I was the littlest of three boys but Aliens was also on regularly as well.

As a kid, I remember being really confused by the reception Willow got from critics. I was really too young to pay any attention to critics, but I do remember it getting razzed a lot in media. As a kid, though, I absolutely loved it, and all my friends did, too. I watched it recently with my kids, and I still enjoyed it, but it could have been nostalgia. It definitely has faults, though, and looks dated. My kids, like me when I was younger, absolutely loved it. One of their favorite movies ever. I imagine it was probably a lot like Phantom Menace. Above a certain age, it's an awful movie, but if you're in the target demographic, it's amazing.

He's only 52 and unless they have other conditions, which he does not, it's average lifespan.

Some have other issues, but generally they have normal lifespans.

It's a creepy ass movie. Less creepy than Labyrinth, but still...for children? Seems there were some themes that probably created a lot more questions than answers.
