People like this who wait for celebrities at airports, outsides events, etc are scum of the earth. I've seen way too many of them up close and personal and they're just complete losers and weirdos and hucksters and trash and I wish their behavior could somehow be outlawed. When Tom Hanks, of all people, is yelling curse words at you, you know you've made some bad decisions in life.

almost everyone in the media are scums of the earth.

At the very least insanely self-absorbed and self-important when in reality what they do matters very little…

We randomly meet Mike Rowe a couple weeks ago in Las Vegas. He was walking in front of Ceaser's palace at 7:30 in the morning. Looked like he was just out for a morning walk. I recognized him and pointed him out to my husband, who then called out his name and ran over to shake his hand.

Luckily he was super cool and chatted for a minute and let me take their picture.

You won't make small chat with someone you see out and about and say are in line next to or something if they are a celebrity? Like randomly chatting up a stranger? Thst seems to me to be the same kind of putting them on a pedestal. It seems to me the best move is to just treat em like people like everyone else. At least, that's what I've done the very few times I've had chance encounters. Maybe it's different in LA, but I'm sure most folks just want to be treated like a normal joe.

Completely appropriate response.

But dang, Hanks sure is a frail looking old man now.

Ok, watched the video and believe Tom was 100% in the right. If someone almost knocked down my wife, I would have done the same. Agree w/ the above poster that Hank security team fail to keep the fan away. Clearly the guy didn't mean to knock into Rita .. he was focus 100% on Tom and decided to ignore the beautiful woman walking in front of him.

The fan lack of situational awareness really is the problem here and the security team failure to maneuver the fan away from their clients.

TCTT.. not sure what F16 has to do w/ this issue. I think most folks would actually be in agreement w/ you on the situation.

Common ground for most Aggie. Propose Rule # 4 - Aggie always defend their spouses from jerks and support those who do.

Also shame on us for breaking Rule #1.. cause Rita is a very beautiful woman who has aged better then most Hollywood actress (Looking at you Meg Ryan)

Agreed on Rita, always felt she was an underrated hottie. Especially when she was the cocktail waitress in That Thing You Do.

If a guy has a rep of being an *******, this proves it.

If he has a rep of being a nice, guy, they deserved it.

Just interesting.

So the *millions* of people who work in media are ALL "scum"? Got it. Despite the fact that I know and see tons who work in media and aren't. Ok.

Even if we're talking only about the prominent anchors/journalist/execs/actors/etc, that's still an insane comment, and a go-to staple of the kind of thinking of a certain board, wherein huge swaths of people are constantly painted with the brush of a select few culprits.

I think they meant the press/journalists, where more than likely, they are trash, based on what passes as journalism these days.

I'm sure most people in the broader spectrum of the media are probably pretty good guys, but there are some pretty ****ty people in that group, but you can probably say the same about a lot of different groups of people, especially politicians.
