Totally appropriate response. Way too up in her personal space. Good for him.

Guy he was yelling at seems like a teen or young adult who looks like he just missed the cut for the special Olympics. Shaved head kid who has no idea of social cues and just stands there while being yelled seems like somebody on the spectrum, but could be wrong. Maybe he is an *******. I'm sure we'll find out

People like this who wait for celebrities at airports, outsides events, etc are scum of the earth. I've seen way too many of them up close and personal and they're just complete losers and weirdos and hucksters and trash and I wish their behavior could somehow be outlawed. When Tom Hanks, of all people, is yelling curse words at you, you know you've made some bad decisions in life.

I can't imagine what it would be like unable to go through life without a mob following you making selfish demands.

In the recently published video below, famed surfer Kelly slater comes in from a recreational evening surf session (not a competition where the public gathers, but him just out surfing) and people are desperately waiting on the beach to gratify their own selfish desires, meet the man and get his picture. He tells the girl with the phone in his face that he's had one of his worst times surfing and is frustrated, but neither she nor anyone else is self-aware enough to give him some space.

I can't imagine a life like that and certainly for celebrities more popular than a surfer.

Kind of looks like the white supremacist version of McLovin to me.

Man, yeah, you can totally see that he's just not at all in the mood, but no one gives a sh*t. Screw those people.

I would never, ever, ever approach a celebrity, not for a picture, not for an autograph, not even just to talk. Unless we were, like, at the same social function and had a mutual acquaintance or something, but that's it. I've just never understood why anyone thinks it's appropriate to bug them in public and treat them like zoo animals.

I expect all celebrities to perform their best scenes for me when i see them in public, while I clap my hands and throw quarters their way to confirm their worth as human beings.

Same. I have some pretty high profile patients that I work with and I tell my department that they are to be treated like any other patient that comes through the door. We are medical professionals and not only is it unprofessional, but also a violation of patient rights.

It inevitably happens anyways.

Agreed. Although I am much less sympathetic if you are one of the celebrities that sang Imagine.

Saw Bill Goldberg at the gas station today and thought about asking him for a picture. He looked like he was in no mood for that and I sure as **** wasn't going to find out.

Driving a gray Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat with a black hood. Not diesel, but I bet that thing doesn't get amazing gas mileage

I don't have a problem with Hanks' reaction because it was perfectly justified, but his security team completely failed him here. They didn't keep the fans at bay or keep a lane for both Tom and Rita.

I didn't think the shaved head kid was too bad - he was following w/a phone but it was the older jacka%% in the blue shirt trying to get selfies who then knocked the skinny black guy (who looked too close already) into his wife.

Agree w/the bottom feeders essentially stalking however.

Years ago I was at the airpor in NOLA flying back to DFW. Some Manning football camp had just ended a bunch of HS and college players were in the airport. For example, Matrick Mahomes was one of the guys I remember seeing in the ticket area (he was still at tech).

These sports memorabilia d-bags were there in swarms w/huge duffles full of mini helmets, footballs, etc., all on walkie-talkies, trying to get stuff signed. You'd hear them frantically talking into the WTs "Player X is at ticket count 5, get someone over there ASAP!" and whatnot.

Abso-f-ing lutely ridiculous.

The kids didn't care of course - it was attention. Didn't make it any more right though.
Staff - take out the trash.

I think it depends on factors and level of celebrity.
I saw Terry Crews & family at Disneyland, pointed him out to my family and kept going (had to double back for a 5 year old who didn't see him, didn't know him, but she had to be part of it so I pointed him out again).

However, I saw Sid Vicious waiting in line at a cafe. In that case, I went in line behind him and chatted with him until he got his food. I think he liked being recognized, but I wasn't sure because that is one big scary dude.

For me it depends on the situation. I'm not going to interrupt anyone's dinner and no way in hell I say anything if they're with their kids. I've bumped into plenty of celebrities over the years, some I've ignored and others I've talked to. Most of them were extremely nice. Of course I wasn't asking for autographs and it was before cell phone cameras so maybe that helped.

One of my favorites was when I saw ZZ Top at Reunion Arena. I saw Dimebag walking through the concourse after the show and without thinking I just yelled out "DIME!" He stopped, looked at me, and then marched over with a huge grin on his face. Shook my hand and we started talking about great the show was. But it was well known that's the kind of guy he was. He never met a stranger and would always take time to talk to fans.

Me neither. Never have. From probably the late 90's to about 2018 I honestly had a crazy habit of running in to celebrities via complete randomness. I just never felt any compunction at all to care. I've told the stories about meeting Sly and another about Bruce Willis on this board. Totally random. And just conversing like normal people. And I have found, they actually do converse like normal people when they're treated like normal people.

Also had a great run in with David Hasselhoff one time in Plano. And Tommy Lee Jones several times.
