Rewatching Finding Frances and the reading from Mud 2 might be the funniest minute of TV ever.

So I just finished this season.

I am 100% convinced the show is at least partly scripted. There are times when you can tell Nathan is being painfully, over-the-top awkward and clearly doing it for the camera.

And stuff like the very last scene is obviously planned. Nobody is that melodramatic in real life.

Also I have to say, the main thing I kept repeating to myself throughout every episode was... "Why?" Why go through the insane amounts of effort to do most of the stuff they did when about 95% of it was completely unnecessary? Like recreating all of the Remy interactions, recreating the acting class with him playing the student, etc. It felt like HBO had a budget, they had money to burn, so they figured they'd spend all the money on these elaborate setups.

And yet...I watched every episode. Something about this damn show just made me want to see what they did next. And I guess that's the point. Very odd, albeit unique show. I like the original premise, but that kind of went out the window pretty quick. So you never knew what the next episode would be.

Mission accomplished, I guess?

Does this speech feel Rehearsed to anyone else? The show qualified for unscripted, I would have guessed at scripted.

I have to say I loved the first episode. Was so original, new, and dry that I was pissing myself laughing. After the second episode it for whatever reason grew ild on my quickly and felt redundant. Had no motivation after the second episode and pulled up anchor. Probably not fair, and could have been an artifact of my mood at the time. But that was the last episode I watched. Didn't here much about if after I did so I assumed I made a wise decision. But probably a bad assumption with real merit.

It seriously looks like he was somehow given twice the budget as last time. This is insane...

Glad the laptop harness is back.

I love this insane show. How is he not more famous? I'm glad he's not because that would ruin his whole thing, but damn!

This show is crazy!

I'm always amazed at the people that he finds for these shows. Such oddball characters.

Same. Plus, this episode made me rewatch the Summit Ice one, and that episode has two of my other favorite Fielder ideas...the Manzone in women's clothing stores and his ridiculously complicated idea to let overweight people ride horses.

I know he was just trying to get a good score, but the advice Nathan Fielder gave the guitar girl at the end of the last episode of The Rehearsal genuinely brought me to tears.

I think I still like Nathan for You a bit more, but this show is still great

Btw, the German Paramount+ headquarters location is the same building/room where last week's episode of The Studio took place as well. Both Mad Men and Oppenheimer also shot in that room, among a ton of other shows and movies. One of my best friends - an Aggie - even had his wedding reception in that room, which I think about every time I see it something...
