The Elvis movie got me to thinking about what it must've been like to see Elvis himself live before he died.

There's such a range of age groups on texags, someone must have right? Or had a parent or grand parent that did? I'd love to hear about seeing especially some of the legends like Elvis, Led Zeppelin, Bob Marley, Johnny Cash, The Beatles (all together, seeing Paul McCartney doesn't count), Michael Jackson… people like that.

Not a "legend" like those listed but I saw Joe Diffie play live like a month before he died of Covid complications. Felt a little surreal.
CNN is an enemy of the state and should be treated as such.

Cliff Burton

That's a pretty damned good band right there.

Whichever guys in Great White died in the fire. Saw them open for Judas Priest in the 80's.

Pat Torpey of Mr. Big.

Julio Iglesias (is he still alive?)

Which ever one of the Panozzo brothers from Styx that died.

Gary Moore

Robin Crosby of Ratt

Probably some others I don't recall right now.

Yul Brynner starring in "The King And I" when it was touring. I was maybe 12 years old. Dude rocked the shaved head and made it cool a couple decades before anybody else (except for Telly Savalas).

ETA Dusty Hill

Jimmy Bain, bass player for Dio, co-writer for Rainbow in the Dark.

We were on the Def Leppard cruise. Saw Last in Line, Dio's band with Andrew Freeman singing lead, performing at the pre-cruise concert the night before we sailed. Two days into the cruise, IIRC, we ran into a group of people looking very upset. We found out that Jimmy had died the night before on board the ship, of undiagnosed lung cancer. Definitely assed a weird vibe to the cruise.

Add to that Joe Elliot of Def Leppard got sick and couldn't sing so the big DL concert was the rest of DL with an all-star cast of lead singers.

All in all, with all of that aside, we had a great time. An interesting trip and one we'll never forget.

The Doors in 2011. Well 50% of them anyway. It was Ray Manzarek, Robbie Krieger, some other guy and a fake Jim that looked and sounded real so it was pretty cool.

Also the GREAT Merle Haggard with Willie at some amphitheater in the middle of nowhere about 20 miles from New Braunfels. That was 6 months before Merle passed and he was great. Seeing them sing "Pancho and Lefty" together was worth the trip.

I'm no math major but you saw three members of The Doors and only one of those is dead so that would be 33%.

LOL no John Densmore didn't participate so that's why I said some guy. No Jim and no John = 50% of the ORIGINAL Doors. Sorry should have said that lol. They were still really good though.
