But damn this **** gives me chills. RIP Chester.
Can't star this part enough. You pay x amount of dollars to go to this concert, event or what ever and you spend the whole time staring at it through a little screen, if you were going to do that save your money and go find videos of it on you tube. First off just be there and enjoy the moment and appreciate what it is. Secondly it NEVER comes out of the video you recorded as amazing as it was live it doesn't matter how good of a phone you have.wangus12 said:
Hybrid Theory and Meteora were my introduction into music that wasn't 1960/70s country with my parents. Their old stuff was great and even there newer stuff wasn't bad imo.
That above is an incredible moment, but man screw people who need to film every little thing on their phones. My wife and I were at a concert this weekend and the couple in front of us literally filmed 75% of a 1.5 hour show.
Nothing against Chester as I enjoy their music but I would have loved to hear Chris sing all of LP's first two releases, he sounded awesome!Fear InoculAg said:
Nah bro. If you want to see something that will give you chills and make you really sad, watch this one:
For those of you who somehow don't know this and need a summary or explanation before you click play, this is Linkin Park playing "Crawling" live, and half way through the song, Chris Cornell comes out of nowhere and starts singing the second verse (from what I have gathered about this, Chester did not even know he was there until he walked out on stage). Then they sing together for the remainder of the song. I am not a Linkin Park fan, but I am a Chris Cornell fan. Chris and Chester were best friends, and there is much speculation that Chester killed himself in part out of grief and depression over Chris committing suicide 2 months earlier.
Edit to add: Chester Killed himself on what would have been Chris Cornell's birthday.
As soon as I saw first post, I was gonna reply with this.Fear InoculAg said:

Also, by the same method, suicide by hanging.Fear InoculAg said:
Yes, meant to mention that. He did commit suicide on Cornell's birthday.

I love Linkin Park. That's a great video.
Bennington could really connect to fans. I saw them open for Metallica. They were so great.
Sad he's gone. Talented man.

Was there at reliant.. 5th row up or so in a section near the stage. My 4th met show at that point! (and exactly 5 years to the day of their previous houston show)
Was pissed cause it took us like 30 minutes from just outside the stadium to finally parking.. we ended up missing deftones.
that was in 2004 at the Toyota center, after summer sanitarium.ABATTBQ11 said:
Think it was my second. First one was right after KLOL got turned into some ****ty tejano station and Godsmack opened for them.
Yup that's the show I was in the pit for…..you didn't miss much with the deftones…..dudes mic cut out at one point and he slammed it on the ground62strat said:

They played Toyota (summit) before summer sanitarium in 97 with CoC, and again in 08 with down.
Lots of incredible new rock out there, it just isn't shoved in your face by terrestrial radio like it was in the 70s-90s.Madmarttigan said:
Audioslave and Linkin Park were two of my favorites. Considering I don't ever find new rock music these days it sucks even more
I think I permanently damaged the hearing in my left ear after that day. I got there early enough to hear all 5 bands. NRG Stadium was only a year old at the time and while its acoustics are still pretty bad today, they were awful then. I'm guessing the tour techs were informed of this and just decided to turn everything up to 11. Every time the singer for Mudvayne would yell it physically hurt. Still was a great day as high school me was in love with almost all of the bands there that day.jetch17 said:ABATTBQ11 said:Dr. Mephisto said:
