Since the first trailer I've thought it looked great, but man, some of the reactions I've read make it sound really, really bad. Others are essentially saying it's not that bad, but not good either. Regardless, I haven't seen a single positive review. The basic sentiment seems to be is that it's nothing original and that its messaging is something we've heard a hundred times before. Too bad, because I really wanted to like this one, but it sounds like Wilde might have gotten high on her own supply, and possibly exposed as a director, seeing as this is only her second feature.

I actually probably will too. I'm still morbidly curious, this has been on my calendar as the kick-off of "awards season" for quite some time now, I haven't been to the theater since early July, and am itching to get back.

that's kind of where I'm at. the last month or so has looked pretty bad for movies at theaters that I'm kind of willing to just go for it even with the bad reviews

Wilde has always seemed like a massive C. Styles seems more like an innocent dumbass. He was 16ish when One D got together, right? Talented and a handsome fella, but being essentially uneducated while people do nothing but fall all over you and everything you do can result in some strange **** . I've got a teenage daughter that is a big Harry fan, and my sense of him is kind of a harmless hippie flake than anything else. I sense that spit was some sort of inside joke between him and Pine

I told a young co-worker yesterday about this movie and assorted drama and said it had a Stepford Wives feel.

She had no idea what that meant.
