One of my favorite yt channels.


The 4th member, known as the wife guy, and his wife worked for the channel, cheated with a subordinate who was a producer for their episodes and was often on screen as part of a thing called The Food Babies.


Big giant tragedy in the Try Guy reddit because Ned freaking cheated on Ariel, with whom he has two kids, with one of his employees.


Ned was always a *****. Glad he was fired.

They are a YouTube channel of former buzzfeed writers where they try different things every episode. Spicy food, cars, make up, anything, and then they review it.

One of the guys was spotted making out with a coworker and is married. As a result, they cut him out of the business and, released the following video.

By the way, one of the new cast members on SNL, Devon Walker, looks uncannily like Pete Davidson.

I think part of the issue is that his whole persona was that of the Wife Guy. Within the context of the Try Guys, he based who he was around being a loving and supporting husband. His whole brand is that he is in a loving and committed relationship that just so damn amazing he can't stop talking about how great it is.


So when you view what happened in that context, it's a little different. The Try Guys as a brand are worth millions. They are likely friends with not only Ned but his wife as well the person he had an affair with. Both Ariel Fulmer and Alexandria Herring (Mistress) are part of a secondary group to the Try Guys. In someways Ned would be considered a direct superior to Alexandria which complicates things even further from an HR standpoint.

His whole affair put all their livelihoods (along with a bunch of the people that work for them) at risk.

This is a great summary from what I understand.

For the record, I am not a huge Try Guys fan or anything. I recall seeing some of their videos back when they still worked for Buzzfeed. They were still filming stuff for Buzzfeed when I visited the studio/offices back in early 2018. I never realized they were still working together until all of this came out.

I think their prime audience is millennial housewives, which is why having the family man cheat on his wife was damaging to the brand (ignoring obvious HR issues).

I hope none of their viewers or they themselves ever watch a Brad or Angelina movie. Or so many other celebrities as well.

There is a joke in there somewhere about WifeGuy on the try guys channel trying different women, but I'm not smart enough to make it not horrific.

I've been learning what the Try Guys are for the past 15 minutes, since the moment I pulled up this thread.

I'm not sure my face has stayed in a consistent "WTF" look longer than this.

I had decent hopes for last week since the host was kind of unusual but it wasn't good?

I thought the BeReal skit was decent the first episode.

SNL needs to completely revamp the writing, not just the cast. It's pretty much unwatchable.

This. Lorne needs to retire, fresh blood needs to take over, and then revamp.

I actually thought the cast was pretty good up until the recent departures. Agree that the writing sucks though

Rumors are that he will hang it up after the 50th anniversary, and possibly the show might end too.

Yeah, he'd been saying that for a couple years now, but then he recently said he might not retire and keep going after 50. Which would be lame, IMO.

Agreed, I thought the recent cast was fantastic. Loved anything Aidy Bryant was in.

SNL writing isnt the career breakout it used to be, and its becoming increasingly clear.

Larry David, Tina Fey, John Mulaney, Al Franken, Phil Hartman, etc.

SNL used to be the incubator for fresh comedic talent, and it is obvious it's no longer that. With social media and streaming services, young, breakout stars usually find other avenues to pursue. SNL is left with whatever is "leftover" and...well... that's why it is why it is.

Apparently Ned has a friend that is a writer, so according to reddit that is why they made the other three look like the bad guys

Or their video already looked ridiculous and insane to anyone not in their world ("Food Babies"??? Wtf mate?).

So, I'm confused. Do you guys hate it and yet watch it, or don't watch it, but just hate it?

Personally, I still like SNL. Is it as good as in some past seasons, no, but it still has a couple funny skits or videos every week for me. I'll be interested to see how this new cast does, but I like them just fine so far.

Kyle Mooney leaving will be a net positive for the show and its writing.
