saw it a 2nd time with my parents and my wife and kids (12,18,20). My 12 year old son loved it except he didn't understand why I was laughing so hard at the "male sperm counts are down…and that's across the board" joke. He'll get it later on rewatches just like me with the full body condom scene. My parents loved it and they introduced me to the Naked Gun and all those movies with I was 9-10. My wife was rolling her eyes mostly and side-eyeing me at the borderline inappropriate stuff. My teenagers think that comedy is back and Gen Z saved it - typical cold take by those morons. Great family experience all around.Complete Idiot said:

Speaking of old references and old people I think there was a Sex and the City joke related to a Miranda Rights comment but I couldn't follow without captions

Gotta be honest, I LOVED the original Naked Gun movies, but I thought all of the previews and trailers for this one weren't funny at all. Is the actual movie better?

Too bad both Ricky Henderson and the Queen are dead.

There was, Drebin commented on each Sex in the City character. Also spent quite of bit of time on Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

I was a little disappointed when I showed my preteen boys the original. They laughed, especially at the baseball...but don't think they really appreciated it. Same goes for when I showed them Dumb and Dumber. I am not sure they really appreciate comedy in general like my generation did...all the movies they watch are action. Then they laugh at garbage on YT and TikTok...oh well.
And it's been awhile since I've seen the non-TV edited version so my wife wasn't too pleased at some scenes. I think I saw it in the theater when I was 10, but lot of the sex jokes just flew over my head.

Social media has destroyed kids' attention spans. Where I get disappointed is when I try to introduce them to a classic movie and they watch while scrolling their phones the entire time
