I LOVED the original as a teenager. I hope the world hasn't changed so much that a 14 year old wouldn't enjoy this one today!

Saw it last night and loved it! It was truly a laugh a minute and I haven't laughed that hard at a movie in years.

I actually think the pacing of the jokes in these types of movies would play well with how that age demo consumes their content (tiktok and whatnot)
just constant jokes

saw it a 2nd time with my parents and my wife and kids (12,18,20). My 12 year old son loved it except he didn't understand why I was laughing so hard at the "male sperm counts are down…and that's across the board" joke. He'll get it later on rewatches just like me with the full body condom scene. My parents loved it and they introduced me to the Naked Gun and all those movies with I was 9-10. My wife was rolling her eyes mostly and side-eyeing me at the borderline inappropriate stuff. My teenagers think that comedy is back and Gen Z saved it - typical cold take by those morons. Great family experience all around.

Was too many old references I don't think the 14 year old got, felt a little more built for the original crowd. Lots of grey hairs in the theater. Didn't see anyone else that looked under 25.

Tivo, Janet Jackson Superbowl, and many more were references the olds like me laughed at but didn't land with him.

Timeless stuff like chili dog ****s, stupid fight scenes, a guy talking about fish people with crab hands, the snowman bit buried in a romantic montage - those land. Those were his favorite.

They rapid fired enough of both to make it a "pretty good" review for him. Personally, I think I had my hopes too high and it just didn't live up to my memory - real or nostalgia fueled.

I was there for "Can we speak freely?" "I'd prefer English, thanks" type jokes and they delivered.

I tried to stay away from trailers so had not seen the "from Bill Cosby's private estate" joke. That about killed me

Anyway, saw it last night and all involved did 100% justice to the series. Truly enjoyed it

Also, couldn't think of a more perfect way to handle Nordberg. Cannot ignore it, but succinctly handled it and got maybe the biggest laugh of the movie

Anyway, again, we went with another couple who are also aging Gen Xers like us that grew up with it, and we all really enjoyed it

Speaking of old references and old people I think there was a Sex and the City joke related to a Miranda Rights comment but I couldn't follow without captions

There was, Drebin commented on each Sex in the City character. Also spent quite of bit of time on Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Gotta be honest, I LOVED the original Naked Gun movies, but I thought all of the previews and trailers for this one weren't funny at all. Is the actual movie better?

It pays a good homage to the original series, and the Police Squad TV show before that. The pacing of the jokes is what always set Naked Gun apart and the jokes are unrelenting in this one.

Honest comparison: not as many guffaws as the originals but a steady chuckle throughout. A worthy follow-up.

If you thought they were funny you will think this is funny.

I enjoyed the reboot but the original Naked Gun is streaming on Amazon right now and it has probably been 20 years since I have seen it and watched it tonight. The movie kills it from the Angels baseball game until the end, I had forgotten how great it was. Drebin as Enrico Palazzo and the umpire. The whole scene with the other umps fighting, the fat lady falling on Reggie Jackson. It doesn't get any funnier than this.

I was a little disappointed when I showed my preteen boys the original. They laughed, especially at the baseball...but don't think they really appreciated it. Same goes for when I showed them Dumb and Dumber. I am not sure they really appreciate comedy in general like my generation did...all the movies they watch are action. Then they laugh at garbage on YT and TikTok...oh well.

And it's been awhile since I've seen the non-TV edited version so my wife wasn't too pleased at some scenes. I think I saw it in the theater when I was 10, but lot of the sex jokes just flew over my head.

Social media has destroyed kids' attention spans. Where I get disappointed is when I try to introduce them to a classic movie and they watch while scrolling their phones the entire time

Unfortunately this is not something that is a kids only thing.

Me and my 2 buddies enjoyed a matinee viewing on Sunday. We're all ~40. This was FANTASTIC and definitely gets better over multiple viewings for all the nuances. The coffee gag was great

-Crab people with crab hands! I'VE MET THAT MAN!
- She had a bottom that would have a toilet seat begging for a brown
- She sounded like a Saint. Well, we were hoping for Broncos or 49ers...
-The Blackeyed Peas references - let's get ******ed. Can we say that? well, in my club you can!
-Snowman weekend scene
- Sperm count across the board. Well I have an ol Bon Jovi T-shirt for that

Pamela Anderson is beautiful and her scat / jazz was really funny.

If you've got some keen eyes, plenty of jokes in the credits and a special Weird Al cameo at the very end too.

Finally saw it this weekend.
Certainly liked it overall. Some great gags and one liners. The snowman thing was something the orginal probably couldn't have pulled off.
After I watched it I wasn't as nostalgic as I thought I would be, I think it is because Liam just couldn't (or didn't try to) pull off the same lovable over the top cluelessness that Leslie had, it's like he played it too straight. I get that was likely at least partially the intent given all his recent roles, just felt off some for me. And then the guy who played Ed was just kinda there. Pamela Anderson was surprisingly good though.

Finally watched on Paramount plus. Loved it. The Nordberg picture scene was great. Lots of good jokes. I like them getting coffee every couple minutes. Solid remake.
