I've also have been seeing speculation - in more than one place, which could lead some credence to the idea - that Barry Keoghan's Joker isn't actually the Joker, but rather an acolyte of the Joker. Since he was technically never referred to as the Joker in-movie, if Reeves wanted to go a different direction, with, say, a bigger actor in the third movie, with a different look, maybe Keoghan's character in Part II is simply some kind of acolyte/fanboy/harbinger of the real deal. Which is an idea I would be for, seeing as I thought the inclusion/look of the character was the only slight misstep in The Batman.

That would be horrible unless they completely change both characters' roles and backstory. All of these characters do what they do for a reason, and I don't think you screw too much with Batman's Rogue Gallery. His list of villains and their depth is one of the best parts about Batman. I do agree that Reeves will find a way to give us a twist we aren't looking for, though.

I'm still one of those who would absolutely love a gritty and realistic Mr. Freeze. Maybe we get that in a Part III.

Agreed. It'd cause too much uproar. I would much prefer this route instead…

Also, I could easily Gilda's villainous actions somehow leading to Harvey being burned. That would be even more tragic.

Now this makes sense, would certainly connect the dots, and finally/officially introduce the Court of Owls as has been long-suspected/rumored. The role of Harvey Dent's father is apparently the last big character left to cast, and the fact that Reeves originally went after Brad Pitt for the role tells us it's an important/juicy part. Harvey trying to do actual good while either knowing or eventually learning that his father is part of the Court of Owls? That's great drama. All the while Dent's wife is potentially on some kind of secret/murderous revenge plot? Sign me up.
