Does John ever stop being a grumpy SOB?
Is there a season we should stop watching, or is it still worth it in season 5?
John Dutton mellows a bit but he's always sort of grumpy. I think the writing for his character gets better as the season progress. All the characters get more complex, but I wouldn't say you're going to necessarily like most of them. A few of them sort of become caricatures of themselves by season 3-4, but it's still ridiculous and entertaining tv.

Kayce, Jimmy, Lloyd, and to a lesser extent, Rip, are the only ones with significant-enough screentime that I like. I would have said Monica, but it sounds like she's going to turn into the death of the show.

I don't mind Monica as much as some people do. I do wish that the writers would try to deviate from the singular defining emotion that they tend to pigeon-hole the female character into. Beth is always pissed off. Monica is always sad. Real people have range, but I feel like they don't give that to the characters on the show much.
So Jon was just elected Governor. Yet the weather looks like summer time. Maybe they moved the election date.

That whole fight scene was ridiculous. Yet I smiled the whole way through.
This show is so stupid, and I have watched every episode from day 1……
Loved tonight's episode. Definitely cheesy at times but I really enjoyed it

By the time you catch up, Rip will end up being one of your favorite characters. He has his flaws, but of them all, he's the most level headed down to earth character. And he's just straight up gritty and bad ass.
Hit by a truck/Prius had me rolling.

I've always loved the show but my wife, who grew up in the ranching business, was never a fan. But she watched it tonight with me and even enjoyed this episode. Monica was fine in the episode and I didn't have to watch the torture between Beth and Jamie so it was great to me!

Haha i laughed at loud at that. Good episode, dramatic but in a good way. Even the fight between the gals was fine.
****Please be 18**** Young Beth is a pure smoke show. That is all.

While many on here hate the Monica story-lines (I am not one of them) I am long over the Beth and Jamie drawn out drama
Sorry to quote myself, but I think one of the reasons I liked this week's episode is that we got to see some different things from Beth and Monica.

I think Monica's laugh at the dinner table was genuine and they just kept that take. The whole thing was so ridiculous you know the crew was laughing throughout.
I figured that but like the discussion. Last nights episode was pretty solid.

Meh. Thought the fight scene was a little forced to be the female equivalent of Lloyd and Walker slugging it out in the rodeo ring, getting it out of their systems, then understanding each other and burying the hatchet. Not really sure the point of it other than the continued caricature they've made of Beth (the bar fight last week, now this?). She needs a rubber room and straight jacket.
