I don't know, I think he is just falling subject to a force more powerful than pretty much anything.

Oh, I get that Jamie isn't in a rational place right now... I'm just anticipating the reveal to his new partners that "Oh, yeah, sorry. Forgot to tell you guys that maybe I'm not the most respectable replacement candidate because my family has photographic evidence that I am in fact a murderer."
Last season they bought the badass cutting horse to take out and win millions and also get stud fees. Was supposed to be the thing that made them money and get publicity. Another story that was introduced and completely disappeared
I thought I remembered hearing from somewhere that vast majority of the horses in Yellowstone are actually Taylor's horses. I'm beginning to think that's the real reason for taking the cattle all the way back to the pens instead of branding/vaccinating in the pasture. He has some pretty elite horses and he just wanted the world to know.
Some pretty good points here. Major plot defects….maybe they just forgot about the blackmail murder pics plot line.

Wouldn't she implicate the entire Yellowstone by exposing the "train station" if she were to follow through on her threat to Jamie?
That and it's a hell of a lot easier to work cattle in a set of pens.
Yes but sometimes just not worth it depending on how far their grazing pasture is from the pens. I know a big west Texas rancher that does it all in the pasture. He said he basically makes a coral with men on horseback to hold the cattle in. Mainly because he said getting them to the pens isn't worth the trouble when you're 15+ miles to a set of pens. I'd like to see it one day. It's be a cool thing to see.

I'm too lazy to go back and look, but I'm pretty sure the conservation easement was known to the airport/land developer folks way back when the foul mouth hag with shake voice was still in town. Now they act like it's a new bombshell.
And I love the idea that the 6666 is selling out of their own beef every year, but just happen to have land to graze 5,000 head that they aren't using.

I was talking to my father in law about the cow working scene and he was telling me that when Clayton Williams used to work his cattle at his ranch near Alpine that we would hire a cook and set up tents near the pens. He said there was never a live band involved but people would sit around and play their guitar. Minus the live band, Clayton used to have a pretty similar set up to that.

Have we ever seen winter in Yellowstone County? It's currently -14 in Billings, -37F wind chill. It always seems to be spring or summer there.

Sometimes I wonder if Jamie is doing a rope-a-dope. But I don't think he has the skills.....and it would be kind of lame.....story writing wise.
To me that seemed preplanned between Jamie and the girl. When the other lawyer left she commented on his acting skills. It's become unwatchable as far as I'm concerned. I'd have thrown in the towel last season if not for the wife.
It's been ridiculous from episode 1. I just cringe through most of it, to get to the good parts.

I don't remember people in the oil business whining this much about "realism" back in the 80's. But maybe that is because it was before internet message boards.
