To find you, I'd stand naked, stoned, and stabbed - I'd call that a bargain, the best I ever had!

While listening to that song, I pointed this lyric to my then 17 or 18 year old son. I was going to bring up the point that while things can seem hopeless and miserable now, things always change and get better and to not lose hope.

He said, "That's so dumb. Just because you're old doesn't mean that you're wise."

And thus proving the point of the line.

Great thread.

Max Stalling - "Dad's chair empty - that still hits me."

Great line. There are 3 or 4 lines just from "Probably Corsicana" that are absolutely incredible.

On a different note, from Son Volt's "Windfall":
"Switching it over to AM, searching for a truer sound"

Gary P Nunn (Willie's cover is probably better) - "but the last thing I needed, the first thing this morning, was to have you walk out on me"

REK - "I reached into my pocket found 3 twenties and a ten, feels so good feelin'n good again"

Ricky Skaggs: "I'll pull up my collar, walk into the night, I'll be looking an answer"
