Some of the starred posts are, well, heads scratchers. Old, now cliched lines that were never really good in the first place but fit in well to an overall song package. Then again, opinions are like...

I always thought that Billy Joel was a great entertainer but hell, based on this thread, he's an effing songwriting genius.

Here's an under appreciated one from Billy Joe, which ain't even is his best, but likely his truest, from his last studio album before he passed, when he was getting up there in years. Met him once, he was very kind and humble.
