I like Rock a lot. I really liked his last special and had high hopes for this one. All in all, it was decent but not great. Several good laughs for me. I'd give it a solid B. Was hoping for an A, so in that regard, it felt a bit disappointing, but the dude is still one of the best. Total pro who hits you with things you don't quite expect and sells his material as good as anyone.

I thought Chris Rock tore it up.

I was laughing my ass off throughout the whole performance.

Chris Rock is not as funny as Dave Chappelle.....but damn.....he's very good and very funny.
Reading the last few responses on this thread have swung me back to what I originally said.

I thought Chris Rocks performance was great....but he's not as good as Dave Chappelle.

I think a lot of you are downgrading Rock's performance because its not quite as good as Chappelle's last few Netflix specials.

To each his own. Comedy hits people in a different way. What some people find funny, others will take offense and not find humorous.

I love Seinfeld. Never really cared for Louis CK....but I know tons of people that love Louis CK, and that never ever found Seinfeld funny.
My simple test for how funny a standup special is listening to the crowd: are they laughing out loud the entire time, crying laughing, out of their seats clapping etc, or are they just chuckling here and there. Chris Rock's earlier stand-up specials were laugh out loud funny. This last standup special? Not so much. The crowd was chuckling here and there but no real laugh out loud moments.
shouldn't your simple test to find out how funny someone is be, "do you think its funny?"

i don't give a crap if anyone else thinks its funny. I could watch a Larry the Cable Guy special when he's performing for a bunch of his fans who laughing their asses off. I'd still think he sucks balls.
Yes, and I didnt think this special was very funny. It was boring.

Did y'all get upset when Bill Burr talked about abortion at Red Rocks?
Dave Chapelle's bit on abortion was much better than Rock's.

I always find it funnier when a comedian goes into a bit seemingly on the audience's side, then throws a curve ball. I like comedy that challenges both sides of an argument, and calls out the ridiculousness of both.

I've always considered Rock to be one of my favorite comedians, but this just wasn't it, for me.
Exactly.

I think I almost fell out of my chair when Chapelle was talking about Chris Brown and Rihanna.

So I'm talking to my buddy and he says hey Dave you hear about Chris Brown and Rihanna?
Nope. What's up?
Man, he kicked the sh** out of her.
What she do?

I didn't see that coming. The audience didn't see that coming. And that's makes it genius. And no, surely Dave is not supporting domestic violence.

Ok special. Not his best. But just, ok.
My favorite parts were losing count on how many times he said "will Smith and *****" in the same sentence. Lol

The other was when he said "women should have control over their bodies", which came with a large crowd applause.
Then followed it up with (paraphrasing) called it baby killing, which had the crowd in a half hearted laugh and just a few scattered half-hearted claps.
