No.

But ABBA was huge because they were good in that era. If you weren't around in that era then you wouldn't know.

Decades later their music gets used as the soundtrack to a hit movie. That gets turned into a successful stage adaptation.

They get offered a crapton of money to come out of retirement and go on tour. They don't need it so they say "Nah, we will just motion capture ourselves and perform as holograms"

You don't have to like their music. But they are a household name for good reason.

My mother grew up in western Ireland. She had never seen a black person until she went to Dublin to visit the US Embassy when she was trying to immigrate to the US.

My former boss grew up in rural Illinois and and only saw black people if they went to Chicago.

Same for my wife that grew up in rural Michigan and only saw black people when visiting a big city. And only saw Hispanics when the migrant workers would come every season to work the fields.

It's still a compartmentalized existence for people in some areas.
