I'd like to formally petition that we change this thread title to "...Best *****6*****-year run..."

That being said, some of these 6 year entries may be okay if the earlier year movie was released later on in the calendar year than the latter year movies, and you look at it from that point of view rather than strictly calendar year based.

Or we could do some research and go by shooting dates

If the same thread were made for specific decades (e.g. 70's, 80's, 90's) maybe that would stop people from doing say 11 years rather than the true 10.

Robert Redford had a couple of nice 5 year spans in the 70's and the 80's.

(For the younger crowd, Redford was v.1 to Brad Pitt b.2 and Leo DiCaprio v.3 ...

A contemporary of Redford's (Paul Newman) would have some nice runs in that same era.
Be more concerned with your character than with your reputation. Your character is what you really are while your reputation is merely what others think you are.

On Crowe, if you drop Cinderella Man and go one year before Gladiator you can add "The Insider" which IMO is an incredible performance by Crowe and a pretty good movie all around.

The Insider - 1999
Gladiator - 2000
Proof of Life - 2000
A Beautiful Mind - 2001
Master & Commander - 2003
Leggo My Elko

Both those guys are incredible. On a side note, 2008's "Doubt" has Hoffman, Meryl Streep and Viola Davis all with next level preformances.
