The astronaut said something to the effect of: "It's better that real humans venture into outer space rather than robots. All in the name of exploration and discovery etc." I do agree though, it is a bit of a plot hole.

3rd episode 98% predictable with a little flare at the end. Great episode don't get me wrong.But I tracked most of that since the 2nd act

I thought the ending would be the obvious route, but it was slightly different.

I did watch the 2 lowest ranked episodes on purpose to give me hope on the next ones. It can't get worse from here.

#4 is horrendous. #5 is only slightly better
I started watching #5 and turned it off after about 30 minutes. I'm all but done with this series unless the next one comes out and friends/family say it's great. I hate to be such a downer on it but after season 2, this series has been absolute dog ****

Just finished Episode 2. This seemed more like an 8mm rip than a Black Mirror episode. Doesn't really fit with the concept. Maybe that's just me.
I think it did in regards to how much obsessed our culture has become with True Crime type stuff.

Second episode, like the first, is just a commentary on Netflix. Feels a bit masturbatory, tbh.

That's what I thought. I liked it, and thought it would've made a great movie or episode of another TV show, but I didn't understand what it was doing in Black Mirror. There wasn't any technology run amok angle at all.

Joan is Awful was dark, terrifying, and a frightening reflection of our society. And that was just the dude wearing a dress. But seriously folks, it was ok. I did like the Michael Cera cameo.
Loch Henry was fine, but the twist was obvious and it didn't fit within the tech dystopia Black Mirror anthology.
Hope things pick up.

They obviously are moving outside of the tech dystopia box. I don't mind it at all. The response to this reminds me of the response to Atlanta S3. People lose their minds when creators try something different.
I really enjoyed the first 3 episodes...#1 and 3 particular felt like vintage Black Mirror.
It's absolutely ok if they are over bleak tech dystopia nightmares and want to focus on telling a different kind of story. Just create a new show and name it something else. Telling these types of stories under the Black Mirror name not only doesn't make any sense, but feels like a bait and switch.

I feel like paparazzi have mostly been killed off by social media anyways. Before FB, paparazzi were the only insight into celebrity life. They were also the only ones with quality cameras.
Now everyone sees how every single celebrity lives, in high definition photos, with just as much photo editing, straight from their own phone to yours.
It's like spending an episode talking about the dangers of coal mining.

There's nothing wrong with them stepping away from the dystopian tech angle. Hell, the first episode of the entire series involved the UK prime Minister effing a pig on live television. I just wish they'd get back to making good episodes.

It was set in the time period when Britney Spears shaved her head though. The paps were pretty damn bad around that time!
That episode sucks too.
But is about the propagation of information across social media, so at least technology adjacent
