I'm really surprised by this. I thought Speed would win in a landslide! I saw both in the theater that summer and really liked both but I'll take Speed as the better action flick. Its pretty much non-stop action from beginning to end.

And why is everyone focusing on Jamie Lee Curtis when Tia Carrere is in the same movie??

Both are great.

True Lies is my favorite of the two, but heck, I literally watched Speed last night. That is an adrenaline movie if ever I saw one. Some good quotes to come out of it as well.

I wouldn't call True Lies a comedy. Yeah, it has a lot of comedy in much the same way that Alien, a science fiction movie, has a lot of horror in it. True Lies is basically a funnier James Bond movie. The villain is non-descript, but all of the supporting characters are nails.

I remember laughing at the sheer stupidity of Speed. I remember loving TL.

I'm going with TL.

Neither have been seen by me in many years though.

True. But it was the end of an era where even Aloha Snackbar terrorism could actually be humorous. The scene with the camcorder battery dying was especially enjoyable.

2. "Here. Cool off."

3. "Look at me when I talk to you, what kind of a cop are you anyway?"

4. "You know my handcuffs?" "Hmmm." "I've picked them!"

5. "THE BRIDGE IZZZZZZZ OOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUT!!!!"

6. "You're fired."

Yeah there's plenty of action in this….

Yeah it's hard to count these as individual scenes as you don't really get a chance to breath once he's heading for the bus.

Hard to believe Ellen DeGeneres turned down the role in Speed. Sandra always thanked her for it whenever they saw each other/invited on Ellen.
