Finished it last night. What a horrible waste.
Flynn had an Aquinas-like experience, when the saint, near the end of his life, said, "I can write no more. I have seen things that make my writings like straw."
Some Flynn quotes on the ISOs, those new lifeforms that found existence in his Grid...
- "ISOs manifested like a flame, they weren't really from anywhere. The conditions were right, and they came into being."
- "They were going to be my gift to the world." (referring to the ISOs)
- "She's the miracle, man. Everything I ever worked for. 'A digital frontier to reshape the human condition.'" (speaking of Quorra, the last ISO)
- "For centuries we dreamed of gods, spirits, aliens, intelligences beyond our own. I found them, in here. like flowers in a wasteland."
Sam, his son, helped by his father's sacrifice, escapes with one of these ISOs (Quorra) into the real world. This ends Tron Legacy, and sets up for a fantastic exploration of what the new world would look like.
But, instead, the shuffle almost the entirety of Tron Legacy out the door and give us trash.
Graphically beautiful trash, but still, just horrible.
Also, very disappointed in NiN soundtrack. Was off the entire time.
Just a wasted opportunity. Almost Kathleen Kennedy level bad.
