Rewatching all the Indiana Jones with the kids, and Willie Scott is absolutely the most worthless character ever. Besides her incessant screaming, she's also a terrible person. At the beginning, when Indy gets poisoned, she's only concerned with finding the diamond. When the antidote rolls in front of her, she does take it, but then refuses to give it to Indy. Instead she just screams about breaking a nail. Throughout the whole movie, she never offers any sort of value to the team. Would anyone really have blamed Indy if he just kept lowering her into the lava?

Yeah she pretty much sucks….

I like her. What's wrong with a fish out of water character? It's not like she signed up to be part of the insanity. One second the woman's singing in a nightclub and next thing she knows, some stranger in a white tux has a knife/fork jabbed into her side while they fight over an ancient dead dude stuffed in a small jar (hey, maybe that's why she wasn't exactly rushing to hand Indy the antidote).

Then she is dropped out of a window, crashes down 6 stories and falls into a car being driven by a 10 year old kid while also they are also being chased and being shot at. From there, put on a plane which she subsequently has to jump out of using an inflatable boat as a parachute. I'm guessing most normal people would've whined and complained just a bit if in her shoes. Oh, did I leave out the parts where she was served monkey brains, live snakes, and spiders, then captured by Thugees, put into a cage, and dropped into a pit of lava?

However, when the chips were down, she actually comes through over and over. She got Indy the antidote, rescued Short Round and Indy from being crushed to death despite the million bugs crawling all over her, helped rescue hundreds of enslaved kids, survived the rope bridge collapse, and even doled out a little ass whooping when needed.

She's ok in my book.

She is terrible, and annoying, but she's a much more realistic portrayal of a real woman in those situations than the modern "I'm more of a man than you are" portrayal of women.

The premise of this thread is trash.

Only knock it on her is hooking up with Spielberg and converting.

Temple of Doom was a popular money grab following a masterpiece. It checked all the boxes for a blockbuster. How do I know? Because I loved it as a child (and so do my kids) but it's pretty lame as an adult. Same as ROTJ.

Destroyed the Op, this one did

Willie complained a lot but ultimately she was a smoking hot spoiled girl thrust in to completely unreal situations and she did come thru at times I am certain my wife would have said "whelp, it was a good ride honey".
