Sa every one of the MCU movies through Endgame.

I've only seen the two Spiderman movies since then.

Might see the Captain America one next year and then Deadpool 3 and the next Avengers movies but otherwise I don't care about the rest.

I'll watch Deadpool 3 because it's Ryan Reynolds and the Deadpool movies are not the typical, formulaic superhero fare. They're dark, adult, and really fun.

The fact that Barbie and Oppenheimer are doing so well kinda makes the point that there are a lot of people desperate for original content and not the same retread superficial garbage over and over again. Especially the majority of the public that wasn't even in the same relatively limited target demo that every one of these went after. I kept being told I was wrong when pointing it out. but here we are.

Haven't seen Barbie (probably won't) but from the previews I'd classify that one with the same "superficial" term you use for the comic book movies.

I'd say Barbie is one of the most thoughtful, considered, and thematically strong blockbusters I've seen in years. There's a reason it's making insane $$$, and that's because of how much it's resonating with people on an emotional level. Sure, it swings and misses in a couple minor areas, but overall the last thing I would call it is superficial.

Super power stuff has never resonated as much with me. You don't have as far to stretch to relate to Batman and Iron Man as you do say Superman, Aquaman, Spider Man, etc. For this reason, I love the batman-centric movies and enjoyed the first Iron Man. The rest of the stuff isn't my cup of tea. Maybe it's because I tend to like world-building and magic systems in sci fi and fantasy books more than in movies?

The lesser the vulnerability of the hero the less interest I have.

Superman, Captain Marvel, Hulk are just not as interesting to me as Spiderman, Daredevil or even Batman. If the average person can't harm the person with a shotgun and it then requires intergalactic beings, I'm just less into the story.

Just FYI that for those of you who haven't seen The Boys it's ultra-violent. It's a cool show though.

Deadpool 3, Blade, and X-Men (assuming that's still happening) are the only 3 projects I'm excited for in the MCU.
The DC movies haven't really hit with me other than Nolan's Batman trilogy which are still my favorite to this day.

I think we are going to get our wish with Iger rethinking the entire strategy of the Disney Empire. He's already said they are going to slow down and/or cancel stuff.

I still haven't seen Deadpool 2 somehow. Agree with others....Deadpool, Blade, and X-Men I'm still interested in for Marvel and then with DC it's almost solely limited to Gunn's Superman.

With X-Men, you could probably have it's own overarching, massive arc like you had with the Avengers if you cast it well and did it correctly. I'm blanking on what that arc would be though as I'm 35 years removed from the X-Men comic.
