I am tired of the superhero genre. They were fantastic for a good long while but man it is too overdone now. And all we get is more reboots of this series, movies about comic book characters that 99% of people never heard of (and with good reason). And covering the same ground in every last one of them. Is it just me???

Yep. I got to where I just could not keep up very much past the main Avengers. Too convaluted for me. Plus, I don't have enough time to devote to keeping up with that genre.

I'm still interested in some of the big swings - The Batman Part II, Superman: Legacy, a select few Marvel titles, etc - but yeah, I have an increasingly low tolerance for / interest in just about everything else, superhero-wise.

It definitely feels like we're moving toward more Dunes, Top Gun: Mavericks, Oppenheimers, etc, which I could not be more excited for.

Have not watched even one - willingly. I got roped into watching Black Panther in a family reunion gathering. I genuinely dislike these types of movies and refuse to watch any if I can help it.

Reeves Batman universe and Peacemaker Season 2 are the only current superhero universes I'm interested in.

I loved Marvel all the way through Endgame, but I couldn't give two ****s about The Marvels or anything else the MCU has slated.

Gunn's DCU? Ehh, sorry, just not reeling me in (other than Rachel Brosnahan of course!).

So yeah, I'm basically over it.....

At least for the next 10 years or so, lol. Then maybe let's discuss some reboots.

I don't want a universe I have to keep up with. The last batman movie I liked. Which will make me watch the next batman movie. But I don't want to have to watch the next wonderwoman, superman, and aquaman, just to understand what happens in the next batman.

Watch "The Boys" series on Amazon Prime Video (3 seasons).
If you hate superhero movies (generic & boring) like I do, this is perfect -- and hilarious.

Really cool/original distopian anti-superhero script.

I knew I was done with the MCU when Endgame was done, but I've seen all the movies released since then. They are not must see opening day any more, though.

I remain interested in the next Batman movie, the new Superman movie, and that's about it as far as I know.

I'd rather see original movies.

It's never been my thing. I've seen a handful and I get why people like the. They just don't connect with me. Even as a kid I tried to get into comic books but they bored me. I was more into music and collecting baseball cards.

Oppenheimer suiting up and putting on his hat got me more hyped than any superhero movie has since seeing Tobey suit up in NWH.

I got bored with them 15 years ago. I got dragged to see the Avengers and I said never again.
For shows, The Boys is a fun take on superheroes.

Much like the Harry Potters, these are kids movies so I've never been interested in watching them. Though I have seen the Nolan Batman movies. Those were pretty great.

I want to feel something when I see a movie. Perhaps it is sadness over a death like in Steel Magnolias. Perhaps it is jubilation over a life returned like in Shawshank Redemption. Perhaps it is a thriller that seems feasible like Jaws or almost like Top Gun Maverick. I want to walk out of the movie theater and have an experience that sticks with me. I can watch Tony Stark die, or Starlord walk away, or watch Batman come out of retirement. Those movies don't phase me anymore and they don't stick with me, because we know that in some other reality the outcome is different. All they have to do is claim that it was in a different multiverse.

I missed feeling something after watching a movie. An emotional pull or a memorable soundtrack always seem to help out. Sound of Freedom had it, Oppenheimer had it, and it seems like there are other new releases that may have it.

I for one will be glad when the last bit of kryptonite has been shoved down superman's throat, or whatever kills off these immortal freaks takes hold. I want to watch a movie about a man with an orangutan that signals turns and other fun stuff, where the stars cannot fly unless they have a parachute attached.

If I never see the rock play tug of war with a helicopter again, I will be alright.

Right turn, Clyde!!

I wonder if around 500 BC on some Trojan message board, people lamented that they were getting tired of stories of Zeus, Poseidon, the Argonauts, and other Greek mythology. "Hey it's been 2 centuries of basically the same story. We get it, you're gods, but sometimes you have to face Titans. Enough already, just give me some story about a ship that thinks it is unsinkable until it rams into an iceberg, but make it a love story....or maybe some creatures that look like chariots but transform into giant beings and then back into chariots ... or some guy that is trying to find the Ark of Israelites before the Persians get there....I don't know...just something original"

Spider-Man: No Way Home is the only superhero movie since Endgame that I thought was great.

It's been brutal if you've been bored by them from Day 1. I hope studios are almost done trying to cash in on that crap.

Super power stuff has never resonated as much with me. You don't have as far to stretch to relate to Batman and Iron Man as you do say Superman, Aquaman, Spider Man, etc. For this reason, I love the batman-centric movies and enjoyed the first Iron Man. The rest of the stuff isn't my cup of tea. Maybe it's because I tend to like world-building and magic systems in sci fi and fantasy books more than in movies?

I stopped at Endgame. Barely tried. There is no main antagonist to unite everyone and the multi verse just got too much.

I tried Loki and lost interest. All the other series are going downhill with each release. She Hulk was a massive smelly turd.

I did just see GOTG 3 and really loved it for what it was… a send off.

Not 500 BC but closer to 0 BC yes they did.

I will never tire of Batman or Spider-Man. Hell, I was there opening night for the Joel Schumacher Batmans. If RDJ suited up for another IronMan, I'd probably be pretty excited about that, too Beyond that, though, I'm not really that excited about them. I never got into the DCU. I think the MCU can still be salvaged, but they need to lower the stakes. I'm tired of aliens or gods trying to destroy the universe. Just give me some rich dude who wants to rule the world.

The Boys is fantastic, yes, but so different from the MCU and DCU that I don't even co sider it a "superhero" property.

And Reeves' Batman Universe is not intended to include Superman and Wonder Woman, etc movies. That's not even part of the discussion.

I love them. I love them all, and I'll see them all. I'm behind right now, and still need to see the latest Ant-Man and Spiderverse and GotG, but life keeps getting in the way. But I'll never stop watching. I've even run through a bunch of DCAU movies and a great documentary on DC Comics.

I've been a comic books guy, especially DC, since I was a kid and still have a large number of them. And with the subject matter of some of them lately, I disagree with the assertion that they are just for kids.

The Boys is also awesome.

That's probably why Aristophanes started making fun of them a little bit later.

I'm in a different boat then all of y'all so it's all still relatively interesting to me….but I can completely understand why most folks would be getting exhausted.

I really think the upcoming Deadpool 3 movie and Captain America 4 is going to make or break folks continuing to be interested in the MCU…..

No opinion on DCU as I haven't seen anything from that….

Count me in here…

A couple of the x men movies were pretty good. Logan was great. All the rest i have seen sucked or were so forgettable i barely even remember the costumes, much less any sort of plot.

I was a big fan of the MCU but my interest has certainly fallen since Endgame. Most of the movies and disney plus programming has been lackluster. The only thing in the MCU I'm looking forward to right now is Deadpool 3 with hope that they can bring back the X-Men in a good way. I loved The Batman so I'd be down for any sequel in that kind of environment. Gone are the days when going to the movies for a comic book movie was automatic.

The fact that Barbie and Oppenheimer are doing so well kinda makes the point that there are a lot of people desperate for original content and not the same retread superficial garbage over and over again. Especially the majority of the public that wasn't even in the same relatively limited target demo that every one of these went after. I kept being told I was wrong when pointing it out. but here we are.

Saw every one of the MCU movies through Endgame.

I've only seen the two Spiderman movies since then.

Might see the Captain America one next year and then Deadpool 3 and the next Avengers movies but otherwise I don't care about the rest.

Haven't seen Barbie (probably won't) but from the previews I'd classify that one with the same "superficial" term you use for the comic book movies.
