$8 Uber from hotel a few miles away! Drop off right by the entrance.
This was Friday getting there early (4pm); Sunday getting there later close 7, it was gridlocked and we just hopped out Uber and walked the last maybe 1/2 mile.

I heard people paying out the ass after the show… like $100 for close-ish drives.
We walked to tipsy oak and ate with a few drinks, then $10 Uber back to hotel!

I asked my buddy if there was a rail option (he hasn't lived there in 20 years)
He wasn't aware of one. Didn't surprise me.

I would have done light rail but we were already running late. We got to some seats for the final 2 min of the SDSU-FAU game. Glad we caught the buzzer beater just in time.

I was in section 443 row 13 seats 19, 20 and 21 both nights. Parked in Highland Lot N $15 bucks Friday night, free on Sunday. Metallica went off on Sunday night, better than Friday IMO. Awesome weekend, went with my son and his girlfriend who drove in from NC to visit.

Did anybody go to a theater and view, how was it?

we went to encore showing 8pm sat. night.
It was a bust.. streaming issues across the entire country apparently. We waited almost an hour, and then just got a refund.
We never even got to the first song, just the 'intro' crowd shots and such.

Potentially ignorant opinion but something I wanted to share from last week. First time seeing Pantera. Was it just me or was the drummer kind of… boring? Not to say anything against his skill, or the sound of the performance, but I remember watching during Cowboys from Hell and it was so unexciting. The first time I saw Metallica, Lars spent half the time singing lyrics and pumping up the crowd. All the other drummers had energy.

I'm probably way off-base on that but it's the impression I'll remember most from that set. That, and Zakk Wylde looks like a norse god and can ****in' shred.

Dammit. Was having a great trip down here in PHX with my boy...and then we get word that tomorrow's concert is postponed to next week.

****!!!!!

Now I'm dicking around with different websites to minimize the $$ out of pocket this weekend and seeing if it's worth coming back next weekend.

1. That wasn't Pantera.
2. The drummer is Charlie Benante from Anthrax. He's not really a showy drummer but he's absolutely a bad ass. Plus at these shows he's trying to play Vinnie's parts as close to the original as he can unlike what your Norse god is doing on guitar. I imagine it's more stressful for him than his own shows with Anthrax.

Part deux game report from PHX.

Ags sucked, but Suicidal Tendencies jumped in to open. FFDP was pretty good. They worked the crowd well. Was crazy to see the lead singers daughter on stage celebrating a year of sobriety. My boy actually leaned over and asked what that word meant.

Can't wait for the next set.

Well that was totally worth a rapid 24hr trip back to Phoenix. Didnt realize Trujillo's son was with Suicidal Tendencies. Cool watching them jam together.

Set list was something like: Whiplash, sanitarium, call of Ktulu, wherever I may roam, ride the lightning, for whom the bell tolls, 72 seasons, you must burn, blackened, master of puppets, Enter Sandman and freaking One.

Felt like they were doing us all a solid for the inconvenience. That was BADASS! Didn't expect so many pyrotechnics either.

good to see they tossed moth into flame and put puppets in instead. Can't do a two show no repeat weekend without puppets.

So overall you missed a DM track and a HTSD track.

Also meant to add, my first met show was with suicidal opening with rob on bass!
