I watched the first episode fighting insomnia at like 2 a.m. right after the first season finale had aired. Couldn't believe how hooked I was. Bought the first season on DVD the instant it came out and converted probably 15-20 people I know into becoming superfans by the time Season 2 started.

I liked this show a lot when it was first out, and it quickly became one of my favorites. However, I thought the way it ended was kinda anticlimactic and a bit "boring". It seemed like the show kinda wrote itself into a corner to where it really couldn't end any other way.

Rambling a bit here, but it's probably the show I've liked most without ever rewatching it.

Agreed with the Breaking Bad voters, just so many fantastic moments.

Honorable mention to Firefly. The Wire never lived up to the hype for me.

Fringe. Not sure why, just really enjoyed it.

Cheers or the office. Watched cheers for the first time a few years ago and it was hilarious. A LOT of friends episodes seemed to borrow heavily from it (meaning they were almost exact copies).

I would like to have watch The Sopranos live. I enjoyed the show quite a bit but watched it after it was already finished. I already knew how it ended, so the finale didn't have much of an effect on me. I also think it was the first show to really become a huge pop culture phenomenon. It was the first show to have watch parties and being at the start of the Internet era, the first show to have huge fandom discussions. It would have been cool to be a part of that.

If it's the first time again for everyone in the world, I think I'd go Chapelle's Show. Not sure I can think of anything else that captured cultural attention like that. Of course I was in college at the time so I'm sure my demographic was more obsessed than others. But it was MUST SEE.

Similar vibe on GoT. In the circles I ran it, everyone was talking about it.

This is a good answer for me, too. I have fond memories of watching both 24 and American Idol with friends from my youth group after Wednesday church.

We rented the dvd of 24, the first season. Watched all 4 episodes that night, and then went and got the rest of the season and finished it that weekend. So very good!!!

Fox just doesn't know a good show when they have it sometimes. I swear someone wanted to kill Firefly trying to put it up against season 2 of survivor. Worst time slot possible, and they had some other really dog**** shows at the time IIRC.
