Lawrence of Arabia

Over 3 1/2 hours long. Probably 2 hours of people walking across the desert.

Still one of my all time favorites though

This is one of the first I thought of. Can doze off at some point, wake up to Dave in the bedroom and know it's about time to turn the tv off.

I generally like sci-fi for night time viewing, but I haven't found much new stuff that looks really interesting. Star Trek TNG or DS9 have gotten a lot of sleeping play from me.

Finding Nemo - had three different opportunities to watch this, fell asleep three times. Still haven't seen this entire movie.

The Matrix - strange, I know, but the beginning (after the inital Trinity scene) is slow, some of the scenes have loud but trance music, the car scene in the rain...I've fallen asleep more than once by the time you get to the action later in the movie.

Finding Nemo is great.

Ironic considering that the plot (such as it is) depends on two severely jet lagged people.

Speaking of irony, I always found Insomnia to be a sure solution to getting to sleep. But I think the movie blew and doesn't qualify for inclusion on my list.

This is a very "out there" movie, but it's absolutely hypnotic with its visuals and music and puts me right to sleep - Beyond The Black Rainbow

Neverending story. Duh

It's a once a year thing… but I have never made it through It's A Wonderful Life without falling asleep. I'm sure the Egg Nog doesn't help.
