In terms of pop culture impact, Harrison Ford starred as two of the most recognizable characters ever with Empire Strikes Back (May 21, 1980) and Raiders of the Lost Ark (June 12, 1981) in a 13-month span.
Edit: Oops, missed that someone beat me to it
Honestly Harrison Ford is the biggest movie star in any of our lifetimes.
And one of the last. Not many of those left.
Tom Cruise
Didn't want to start another thread but, who of these two would y'all say has had the bigger, better career overall?
As far as major blockbusters go, you obviously have to go Harrison Ford, but Cruise maybe wins when it comes to "prestige", dramatic roles. His run in the late 90's to early 00's (Jerry Maguire, Eyes Wide Shut, Magnolia, etc) was definitely a career peak in that regard. Plus he got to work with Kubrick, Spielberg, PTA, etc. He may have a better director resume than Ford as well.
