Man, what a great series so far.

It dropped yesterday on Netflix, I'm two episodes in (out of four total), and it's endlessly fascinating.

Yes, it's full blown government conspiracy theory territory, but the receipts they come with, the national-news-making historical footage they show, and the documented cases, crimes, and murders chronicled are all incredibly convincing.

Granted, I'm not saying I buy every word - there's certainly some delusion and paranoia as well from a character or two - and who knows where the next two episodes go. But the quality and intrigue alone are worth it. If anything, it's such a well-made, well-told story, one that I highly recommend...

Nice! Last night it was between the Joran van der Sloot doc and this one and I picked the Joran one.

Looks like this is next on deck.

Watching it right now. Sadly it's not surprising to see this kind of corruption.

wow. i dont know if this is a meta-promotional thing, but when I went to youtube to watch this trailer it has a suicide crisis lifeline at the bottom.

If I dont post for awhile after watching this, EB--- I AM NOT SUICIDAL!

The story itself centers around a "suicide" (heavy emphasis on the quotes), and basically any time any media deals with suicide lately, I've seen a similar warning. It's just another aspect of our ultra-sensitive, ultra-cautious culture as of late.

Someone on f16 recommended this and claimed to work for an alphabet. Said jt was pretty accurate.

Honestly, our govt is corrupt beyond repair so I am not surprised by this show. The most confusing thing is why it takes people so long to recognize and understand the dangers of tyranny.

If it has to be spoon fed by Netflix, so be it.

I cant wait to finish it and get some discussion going. Should be interesting to see what everyone thinks.

So let me guess. Someone of lower level importance, who knew a lot of important sh**, was out for a run, alone, in a secluded area, tripped, fell, and managed to shoot himself in the back of the head with a suppressed 22 three times.

Ruled a robbery or maybe suicide, yet his wallet full of cash and cards and his watch were still on him. Not surprising, his i-phone wasn't.

Through first 2 episodes and it's VERY entertaining and well done. Can't wait to read up on it after I'm done.

Just finished episode three and that Kennedy bit, true or not, gave me legit chills.

What a series.

What a conspiracy.

What corrupt, power-hungry motherf/ckers.

About to dive into the final episode…

Of all the Kennedy conspiracy theories, how have I never heard of/seen this one before? Especially when it seems so obvious/plain as day. What am I missing?

I think it was something about the driver of the Limo was the one who killed Kennedy.

Sorry, the Tweet itself is still up, it's just not embedding properly for whatever reason. But if you click on the link it'll take you the Tweet's url, and it's a video featuring part of the Zapruder film I'd never seen before, where it's fairly obvious (?) that the driver turns around and shoots Kennedy. Presumably, this is the same part of the video the reporter woman in episode three was shown. I'm just confused, though, how this isn't a bigger deal or how I'd never seen this footage/heard this theory before.

Fascinating. I thought I had heard most of the big conspiracy theories about it too. Will have to give this a watch.

Not to derail but have you listened to Rob Reiner's podcast on the assassination? I'm about 3/4's of the way through. Some things I hadn't heard before. I am not a huge Kennedy nerd but I've had a fascination with it since I was a kid. Growing up in Dallas area in the 80s whenever we had company from out of town that was always one of the things they wanted to see was the book depository and the plaza.

I haven't listened yet, but thanks for reminding me. This piqued my Kennedy assassination interest again for sure, and that will be a great follow-up.

But yeah, ha, this legit feels like a Mandela effect-type thing. I'm glad I'm not the only one who hadn't heard about the driver, but the footage is so incredibly convincing. Like you, I'm not a huge Kennedy nerd either, but I've always been interested in the subject, have seen tons of Kennedy assassination documentaries, and I'm just shocked I've never once seen this footage or heard a single talking head/pundit mention it.

I've got this queued up to watch now.

I know I've never once heard anyone say anything about the driver or the footage including him shooting. I've heard a number of theories but I just don't remember ever hearing that the driver was the shooter.

The Reiner podcast has an interview with the guy that processed the Zapruder film and unless I slept through that part I'm certain there was no mention of the driver. The guy made a second copy and kept it when he did the original processing.

I'll stop derailing the OP and come back when I've watched it. Thanks for flagging it!

To be clear, just FYI, the Kennedy footage isn't in the docuseries itself, only in the video at the tweet I posted. After the reporter described the footage in the docuseries, which takes up maybe 30 seconds, if that, I went looking for it and the video in the tweet is what I found.

So the theory is, in an open top car driving down a crowd-lined street, the driver turned around and assassinated Kennedy in broad daylight?

Really?

I just watched the video with sound off and I didn't see anything that looks like that.
Thanks and gig'em

I think there is a book that puts forth it was the driver, Murder from the Inside or some such. It's not a new theory.

Look, I'm not fully endorsing this theory, but in the video it definitely seems as if the driver, while keeping his right hand on the steering wheel, turns his head toward Kennedy, and brings his left hand up to his right shoulder, the hand that would presumably be holding a silencer of some sort, pointing back Kennedy. Then, at that exact moment, Kennedy's head just so happens to cock back, away from the driver, as if struck by a bullet, and basically explodes. Granted, it's not remotely conclusive, I'm simply acknowledging that the movements, as blurry as they are, match up shocking well.

I ended up saving the final episode for tonight, and yeah, I'm going to need another season after that.

I was all set to see Christian finish the book and get on with his life, after that great final montage about leaving it all behind and finding happiness again.

But then man, what a tease at the end.

And just a roller coaster ride of a series leading up to it.

The evidence box scene, in particular, was so eye opening, in how much was obviously withheld/omitted.

What a crazy, crazy story.

The biggest hole in the theory is that you would think Jackie, John Connally, or his wife would have seen the driver do it. Unless they were in on it too.

Definitely in agreement there. That said, at that exact moment, ALL the focus is on Kennedy, and in the commotion I could maybe see the driver getting away with it if using some kind of silencer. Would be a pretty crazy plan, though, no doubt.

Kennedy was on the passenger side. In what world would the driver turn to shoot someone behind them to the right with his left hand, blasting himself in the face mind you with discharge from the barrel? Also between Connolly and his wife who were between Kennedy and the driver and neither reported anything remotely close to that? That makes no sense at all.

The best part about so many of the Kennedy conspiracy theories is just how stupid they are. Just 30-seconds of common sense is all that is needed to dispel most of them.

CORRECT

also, it's not like 250 million Americans in 1963 were at the beach and no one cared that the President was just murdered during the height of the cold war.

there were literally THOUSANDS of law enforcement, DOD, DOJ, FBI agents as well as Congressional Committees that looked into this

but as with all things on the IPHONE and social media and streaming nowadays, there has to be some massive conspiracy that no one has ever thought of before and has been kept secret for 60 years with thousands of people all in on it!

The "driver turned around and shot JFK in the face" is an even dumber theory than the one that states somebody was in the gutter on Elm Street and shot him from there.
