I will give it to 1980 though, may be the best comedy year ever. And two really top end movies as well.

2013 is a great year. Shawshank is an all time great, maybe the greatest, but give me 1995 over 1994. Braveheart, Heat (classic), Casino, Se7en. and 1999 with American Beauty, wow.
I get the feeling we may have 3 90's in the final four. (Also basing that on the average age on this board.)

2014 delivers 6 movies at 8.0+ and two more at 7.9. Ironically it's oscar winner and box office champ are the lowest two for the year.

Magnolia is a great movie.
All of 2015's top 10 movies are rated between 7.8 and 8.1.
I don't have much to add, but between film and music, how freakin awesome was the early to mid-90's??? Our entertainment high water mark as far as i am concerned.

The Friday session will run through to Monday morning, and then on with the show.

2004 really is a fantastic year for movies, as well. It is not as top heavy as a year like 1994, but the number of good and great movies that year is insane.
