If you're in New York City and interested in seeing something on Broadway, I'd highly recommend Stereophonic.

The play is about a (fictional) band trying to write and record an album in the late 70s. It's loosely based on the the breakup of Fleetwood Mac. Its not a musical in that no one is breaking out into song. But there are songs in which the band records their songs in a recording studio. The actors learned to play their instruments and play them incredibly well. But the characters and and their relationships are the strengths of the play.

I'm not a cultured theatre person nor knowledgeable about Fleetwood Mac, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. And the play just won a bunch of Tonys if that means anything.

My favorite song from the play:

Sex Panther

Thanks for the heads up. Not familiar with it, but sounds like I should be. I'll check it out when I'm in New York.

Seen it twice now! Fantastic. And so love Juliana Canfield but this is a tremendous ensemble piece.

It's long for a play but so good. Songs are great too.

And while we're talking Broadway, the Outsiders is incredible. If you're going to NYC and want to see a show, watch the Tony performance from the show. You'll want to see it just from that!
