Could a 90s computer virus even affect a current MacBook?

Aliens probably use 90's computers to run their most important infrastructure because they spent all their money on death ships and armies and IT was given the "if it ain't broke don't fix it" treatment
Aren't the aliens a hive-mind? Why would they need cyber security measures? We only do because there are so many turds in the human race.

They weren't a very good hive mind... They needed our satellites to keep uplink!

Also I just want to thank you all for giving me something fun that I haven't thought about since the 90's. Makes me want to rewatch the x-files too

He didn't find her in the middle of nowhere. They are literally at his base, El Toro. Will Smith had told her to grab her things and come stay with him on the base, so he went there to see if there was a chance she made it.

Yall really need to pay more attention in movies.
you mean the base he was told that was completely destroyed before he left to go there?

Yeah…it's a plot hole….

Especially before the fight where they get their butts kicked they're flying over Los Angeles and smith says, "I shouldn't have left her" and not, "nah I'm sure she's fine and at the base I literally just left from but for some reason didn't see"

Plot hole….
As others have posted, there's a lot of stuff you can claim would not work in this movie. Why you are a stickler on this particular issue makes no sense, to me. If there was even a 1% chance my soon to be wife could be where we said we would meet, I would get my ass there as soon as I could. If a tidal wave was incoming to galveston, and I told my wife to meet me in galveston before we knew about the tidal wave, I would immediately head to the wreckage of galveston after the tidal wave to try and find her.

This is not a plot hole.

Carry on.
