I like my system free of "color" as much as possible...and with lots of subwoofer! No vinyl for me - to each their own.

I wish I had a dedicated room but I do have a lot of sound absorbers at main reflection points on front/back walls and ceiling and every channel is individually dsp corrected with Dirac.

I'm about 20-30 years from it mattering, but the song Yours got to me because of my daughter. She's my one and only kid and I know it'll wreck me if/when she gets married.

Listened to F-1 Trillion yesterday. Really like M-E-X-I-C-O, California Sober, and Losers.

That song made me tear up but the good news is you have 20-30 years to get used to the idea.

Losers was unexpectedly great. I liked the one with Lainey Wilson best, although I feel like Lainey Wilson really overmatched him vocally. He seems to lose a lot when he slower songs.

"Would You Bury My Gun" seems like a Lonely Island song

I enjoy the album and him exploring genres but Austin was better.

I'm more of Beerbongs and Bentleys type of post listener.

His nirvana covers are legendary too

He released an extended version as well that has an additional 8 songs on it (all solo - no duets).

It's a really good album. Definitely worth getting the extended version. I like most of the solo stuff better than most of the duets.

Well that and she prefers non country Post.

I am a huge Post Malone fan and gave this album a full listen the other night and sadly couldn't wait for it to be over. I respect him for what he's done and his ability to reinvent himself many times and for being one of the seemingly most genuine artists out there but it just wasn't for me.

The guest list is quite impressive but the whole album just gave me a Morgan Wallen feel who I don't get the appeal of either. Each to their own but the only two songs I found listenable are with Sierra Ferrell and Billy Strings and even the one with Billy isn't that great which is a statement I've never uttered in my life.

I'd like to see him at the Woodlands in a couple of months but since it's the F-1 Trillion tour I'd be surprised if even plays his older stuff that I love so I'm not sure I'm willing to take the risk.

I heard ticket prices are insane too.

You are bringing out the FFA kids, country folk and the suburban moms and dads who bumped Stoney growing up.

Yeah the prices are nuts. Lawns are $115 face before fees. I don't ever recall seeing lawn tickets that high for a concert. Interestingly he's playing two nights at the Woodlands and not Dallas. I messed up not seeing his last tour. I streamed his headlining set from bonnaroo this summer and it was incredible but that was obviously before all of this new material.

The other thing that irked me about this album and it's a minor gripe is how does one come out with a song called "California Sober" a year after his boy Billy already put one out with the same name with Willie Nelson? Odd.

No release matters if you are using an insufficient player. A vintage turntable is an absolute must. I recommend a Pink Triangle deck.

The most authentic equipment can be found in Scotland's rural antique shoppes, a trip far beyond even the imagination of your average American "music" consumer.

A minimum rig would be something like:

Linn Sondek LP 12 - Adikt cartridge
Naim Stageline
Naim Supernait II
Klipsch Cornwall IIIs
REL S/5 SHO

However, to listen properly a higher-level set-up is recommended. For example:

- TechDas Air Force One
- Clearaudio Statement v2
- La Platine Magnum
- Goldmund Reference II

Obviously people's opinions can vary slightly here, and few appreciate a liquid nitrogen-rectified belt, or some other "non-essential" features. Which is … Fine. But it's amusing how few appreciate the player, and focus on music. Well, hardware matters.

Truly the only way to properly enjoy vinyl is with a worthy player.

Can't tell if this is a dig from a 2 year old post or wild coincidence.

He'll be doing his annual Posty Fest in Arlington, thats why there's no Dallas dates.

I got tickets to see him in Austin, but I'm curious to see the set list from his early Sept. Dates. I'm a big fan of post malone, but if this is purely country and no other songs I might be a little disappointed, esp for just under 300 per ticket. Totally no qualms going to a normal show at that price, but too high for a 100% songs from a newly released country album.

I do not hate this album as much as I thought I would. Not nearly as bro country as I feared it would be. Way too much autotune. He sounds like a goat or Stevie Nix in a bunch of songs. The lyrics are mostly straight Nashville garbage.

I don't even really like this song with Morgan Wallen much but this sounds great stripped down. Thanks for sharing!

Thought this album was mostly Nashville lyrical crap. Not a single song I'llilely listen to again. Not what I was expecting. Thought he would have some more grit to him and do some songs that would fit in the Texas country music rock scene. But no.

I actually like some of jelly roll's stuff but this isn't even as good as jelly rolll.

Definitely slowed down as well. I'm going to be listening to this livestream over and over again.

Love "Yours" as well. This girl dad is about to be in tears.

I wish the new album sounded more like this in this live session. Digging the nature of this way more.

ETA: This "Sunflower" is freaking fantastic.

ETA2: Playing these old songs like this makes me wonder if they'll be reworked for the upcoming tour. This all sounds so great. It also makes me even want to drink a Bud Light right now.

My youngest kid and only daughter just turned 20 and moved out of state for grad school. We just dropped her off a week ago.
I bawled the first three times I played "Yours".
I hate modern country and had never heard a Post Malone song.

I've listened to a few songs and I think its basic generic crap. Nothing special at all. However, with him and the collaborators it will appeal to the masses no doubt. Having seen some live videos of him on youtube playing different country covers it skews my opinion as well because its apparent he's not a good singer, and the vocals on the album are auto-tuned, compressed, the whole nine yards.

Before this whole country thing by him I had no idea who he was, never heard anything he's ever done, and I still haven't listened to anything of his besides the "country" album. I will give him credit though in that the videos, interactions I've seen of him with other people he seems to come off as a very respectful person. Yes mam, no sir, etc. Thats refreshing.

In terms of music I yearn for the day when people who can actually play, and sing return to getting the credit that they deserve.

Most Post Malone fans prefer his non country music.

Which I'm not sure if you are into that. But he is extremely talented and one of the nicest musicians out there. The things he does for his fans is very special.

I think his vocals are solid but the "good singer" debate is a tale as old as time!

I get where you are going with that and I agree that people can argue until they are blue in the face about it.

My comment directed about post bad singing was based more on the fact that hearing him live and compared to the record is that it sounds like two different people. Hence, the compression, auto-tune, pro tools etc that were added to the album because he's simply not a good singer. Which is fine, some people enjoy it. But to me if you have to do that much work to the vocals for a record it just isn't for me. Most people don't care, or could probably even notice how drastic he sounds between the album and live.
