While not a single creature, the aliens of the Mos Eisley cantina did so much to create a vibe that the Star Wars galaxy truly was far, far away and populated with all sorts of alien creatures.

Perfection on all fronts IMO, from design to how they were portrayed on screen to the music that heralded their arrival.

Rewatched Starship Troopers (as one does of course) and I was reminded how good the Bugs design really was. They felt organic in the way they swarmed but truly deadly to the humans at all times. A true existential foe. Giving them a nod here too.
