1K theatres and in the big chains, not just the specialty houses. So not that limited.

Seeing a movie by yourself is one of life's greater pleasures.

Now that I think about it, I have never done this before. No idea why.

Although for this movie, I saw it at the Alamo - and their pre show intro to tell people to not talk on their phones was a message from Tim Heidecker and he started talking about how he hopes you're not seeing the movie alone and that people who do are losers... which had me cracking up

Amen.

Bigger/event movies I always try and do with a group of friends, but then everything else I see alone.

And it's one of the greatest things ever.

I saw this one by myself and couldn't decide if it was the perfect move or made me a total loser.

The same tonight at the Alamo, I was sitting alone next to a couple. So, in the spirit of Tim Robinson, I turned to the couple and said "I'm alone here but I'm not alone. I'm married, I have a female wife. She drives a fully electric vehicle." But they just stared at me.

Ok, that didn't happen, but I was alone next to a couple and that same Heidecker message played. So I forced a laugh while crying inside.

I turned 30, and had the first kid, and then the 2nd, and all my friends had kids at the same time, and now I haven't gone to a movie with anyone but my kids in a decade. As much effort as it takes to coordinate social time, the last thing I'm going to go to the effort of coordination on is to sit silently in a dark room.

I actually can't recall my 10 and 8 yo seeing a movie with both parents present. If I'm taking them, she's def gonna stay home and take a nap. My movies are all like 10PM showtimes when everyone else in the house is asleep. Everybody in the theatre can judge me as a "loser", I don't care.

Then you show up at this particular movie which is halfway based on dudes sitting around in lawn chairs in the garage drinking beer, boxing, and playing drums, out of sheer boredom. And I'm like lololol IDK anyone who has this life.

I enjoyed the movie, definitely a muted I Think You Should Leave in many ways.

I like the throw away lines like "Owww! Water got on me!" and him shown stepping on the speed bumps he had installed about 5 times.

I only tried seeing a movie by myself once and it was bad. Where the wild things are on a Friday afternoon filled with moms and small kids and me as the creepy man by himself. I didn't realize it was so heavily marketed as a kids movie I thought it was all spike Jonze coolness and nostalgia with a critique of modern culture based on the trailer and texags hype thread

I rented Friendship this past weekend, because I'm a HUGE Tim Robinson fan, love "I think you should leave now "…and was thinking this would be similar.

All in all it's a good movie, but not the kind of comedy that makes you laugh out loud a lot. When it's a 3 minute sketch, it's funnier because you're not invested in the characters as people…but over a feature length film, you find yourself feeling bad for the characters so you can't laugh as much because there are competing emotions.

I rented this and enjoyed it. Weird movie though.
Big Tim Robinson fan. That guy might be the most controversial sketch comedian of all time

This was a good movie. Will watch again! I didn't hear about it until I saw it on HBO. Wish I had seen it in theaters though.

I watched it Friday night and really liked it. It is definitely weird and awkward. Based on the previews, I thought Rudd was going to be the villain who ruined the main character's life.

Loved Tim Robinson before - completely forgot about this movie until Sunday evening. Lol'd rather hard. Would watch again. Tim R and Paul Rudd are so good together.

I didn't have any trouble breathing, but I laughed surprisingly hard at the end of the toad hallucination scene.

Watched this on the plane yesterday... It made me so uncomfortable that my stomach hurt.

From the point he ate the soap on, I was just waiting for the end... And there was still a lot of movie left.

I threw it on, thinking I could watch it while catching up on some emails, but it broke my brain in a way that I couldn't be productive while it was playing.

Watched it a few months ago and it had some pretty damn funny parts, but sort of just felt like watching a mentally handicapped guy's struggles while interacting with odd, but pretty close to normal people. Wasn't quite simple jack level so it's fine I guess?

The entire dynamic with his wife was too weird, wasn't believable that they'd be married.
