So, definitely connecting the actor to the character? For example, anybody, other than Depp, as Jack Sparrow, would stink. So it is not just the character, and not just the actor, but the actor as the character.

So, with that thought, some characters created earlier than 2000 would fit, like Craig as Bond.

That movie will probably forever go down as my least favorite movie experience of all time. I'm not the biggest Tarantino fan, but my wife wanted to see it on a whim when it came out. We went to the Angelika Theater at Mockingbird Station in Dallas. Small theater with little staff. It was December or January and they had the heat in the theater cranked way, way up. Then about 20 minutes into the movie, some people started smoking the dankest weed I've ever smelled. Between the heat and the weed, it was incredibly miserable. We tried to stick it out, but ended up leaving after about 1.5 hours.
