I don't feel it is a great series but it fills in some of the gaps.

No way Frank killed the vigilante

Agreed. Obvious frame job.

The skull showed up a lot with the dirty cops. It's probably very obvious, but I think cleaning out the dirt cops using his symbol is going to bring Frank into the picture and be a big part of the plot.

Might just throw it on during the day, can probably binge it before the next ep drops

Agreed on the hit not being the real Big Pun.

Loved them using Una Palabra in the final scene too. And if you let the credits roll you hear the waves and frogs.

Ep 4 was a little slow/weak. I hope things pick up in Ep 5.

There were a lot of episodes in the original show that were slow but built plot. I don't mind it if it eventually pays off. The problem is this is going to be 9 episodes while the original show was 13 and could afford to take its time. Back in the golden era of streaming shows.

But I like this show so far save for the first episode.

Felt slower to me but not weak. Except the emotional scene with Frank. That was just weird.

I'm sorry, was I supposed to feel sorry for the repeat offender who was whining to Matt because he had to face consequences for repeatedly breaking the law?

Shortly, yes. Or at least realize the inadequacies present in the current system.

Inadequacies in the justice system, sure. But that doesn't mean it's "equitable" to let someone continue performing dozens of petty crimes.

Sorry, political rant over. I still love the show, just seems a really stupid way to make your case that Matt needs to put back on the mask. The writers could have done better.

If anything, the inadequacy of the current system is that it keeps letting serial offenders like that guy back out on the streets.

You're the only one using the term equitable.

And pretty sure what happened to Hector (and what we saw at the very end of the ep) is what's going to drive Matt back into the suit.

They're drawing the contrast between who the system works for and who it works against. The corrupt but resource rich folks like Kingpin and the dirty cops are allowed to keep living their lives unfettered while petty criminals get incarcerated repeatedly. It's not necessarily good guy/bad guy argument, it's a what is this system designed to do argument.

The episode title was Sic Semper Systemus - Latin(ish) for "thus always to systems"

I think the Hector incident plus the bad guys like Fisk escaping punishment we'll both contribute to Daredevil put in the mask back on.

And I agree that guys like Fisk or corrupt police escaping punishment is one of the driving themes in this show. Heck, that's always one of the driving themes in comics like Daredevil. And I agree that all criminals deserve punishment, and on a scale related to their crimes....Bullseye should have gotten the death penalty, Fisk should still be in jail, and that dude should spend 30 days in jail for stealing Fiddle Faddle after racking up a rap sheet with 30+ previous offenses on it.

I just don't have sympathy for or buy that guy's "poor me/two wrongs make a right" argument.

"Hey, those politicians get away with a slap on the wrist so I should get to steal all the Fiddle Faddle I want and you owe me probation instead of jail time when I get caught for the 30th time doing it!" Hence, the inequitality theme of his argument I was referring to. Nobody stated it out loud but it was there.

Enjoyed these latest two episodes. Not quite as good as the original Netflix, but definitely way better than many of the more recent marvel projects.

The bank episode was basically a filler episode to show daredevil being friends with a muslim and did nothing to advance the overall plot. Boring woke BS. Also Matt tells someone to call 911 without explaining who, what, where, and why. Then magically the police show up where they need to be. Really bad writing there.

The latest episode was poorly done and had some really bad dialogue as well as plot holes. How did Matt find the girl at the end? They could have scrapped the bank episode and actually made the latest episode two episodes which filled in the plot holes.

I'm sure someone will respond below that I'm wrong, but to quote Daredevil in the latest episode: "**** it."

Matt was nice to someone different than he was. So woke.

For the record and as was mentioned in the ep, that's Kamala's dad from the Ms Marvel series (which was actually a really fun show). He's a great character and their relationship was one of the highlights of the series, I thought it was a cool tie in. We also don't usually get standalone bottle episodes in these series so this was a nice change of pace, we obviously knew Matt would get out of it but it was interesting to see those things happen in real time and how it all played out. I enjoyed the ep, though I am surprised that they're really taking their time getting him back into the suit.

Most of the other stuff can easily be explained away. Matt's partner who he called knew he was at the bank for the appointment, and he'd been researching the area of the tunnels after talking to Hector's niece. Put him in a tunnel with minimal activity other than the trains and he can probably focus in on the sound. And either way it's a superhero show, as long as there's nothing totally illogical happening it's not taking me out of the story.

As far as the second ep, Muse is creepy af. I don't know anything about the character so I'm curious to see what else we learn about who he is and why he's doing what he does.

I didn't pay attention and can't keep track of characters. Must be that damn boring woke BS again. Come on, man.

Yeah, I love having Daredevil back on the air and now in the MCU. Love Charlie Cox as DD and of course Donofrio as Fisk. My son and I are enjoying this new series.

Buuuut its just not on the same tier as the Netflix series. The CGI is distracting, and the direction and camera work and writing just aren't on the same level. And too many coveniences, like in the bank episode Matt's four freaking stories below ground in a vault yet can still hear the SWAT guy outside talking about his plan to move in, lol. Even in the comics, Matt's hearing isn't that good.

And what they did with Muse is lame. In the comics he holds his own against DD because he's Inhuman. Obviously they can't play that angle in the show, so they should have played it as the ol' "smarts vs strength" angle. Have him stay just one step ahead of DD. But to have him also be some highly trained martial arts fighter capable for at least a little while of holding his own against DD? Come on.

But I won't dog it any more. Like I said, DD is a fav of mine so just glad he's back. Now they just need to make a PS Daredevil game like the two Spidey games.

I liked the bank heist episode. When he interacts with regular people and has to hide who he really is, makes for some of my favorite tension in the show.

Also how you think the guy might get away with it and then Daredevil kicks his ass and does a flying knee imploder stomp like it's a box of puppies left on your doorstep

I enjoy these threads for the shows I like, but its also a bit of an eye roll.

This is a story about a blind superhero who has the skills of a master ninja, and also the skills of a gold medalist in gymnastics, and has a day job as a defense attorney. Then we pick apart the sections of the show for its lack of realism.

The show is pretty good and the interaction between him and Frank was fantastic and emotional, but I don't like how episodic it is. There is barely any plot going on behind the story of the week. I haven't watched episode 6 yet but I'm over halfway and I don't really know what the storyline of the season is other than Matt/Fisk slowly returning to old form.

Come on dude, that's such a lazy take....."This is a fictional world with enhanced character abilities, so absolutely all logic and rules are out the window! Any complaints or attempts to point out flaws are just dumb!"

Yeah, you tried to poke fun, but totally missed my point. It's not a "lack of realism" in a comic book universe I was pointing out. But whatever, the show is still good, just not as good as before. But that was always a high bar to achieve, especially considering this is now a Disney show.
