I like ATJ, but they couldn't find an Eastern European woman to play that role? Listening to her speak also made me roll my eyes.

Per the writer that was actually in the script before they were cast, but then they really leaned into it given the two actors.

I didn't like the movie but I did appreciate those two references. I don't understand how Apple can put out mostly great TV shows but fall so flat on movies. Their movies are just Netflix level films, nothing more. Had this been a Netflix movie I would have had lower expectations and might have had some fun with it. I'm not against a mindless film to kill time but when you expect a little more and get something like this it's just disappointing. But I also think they could have had even more fun with it with some changes, it just didn't work for me. The script was a mix of poorly written exposition and shot in front of a green screen.

If you go in with low expectations you can find a way to enjoy this, otherwise don't bother.

Cheesy AF. I realize it's all about money, but I can't believe two respected actors agreed to do this movie.

It is definitely on my bucket list to see a concert at. Looks awesome

Respected maybe, but I don't really consider Miles a good actor. Average at best. Maybe its just the dumb look on his face he always has that rubs me wrong, idk.

I thought it was pretty decent and held my attention for a couple of hours.

To me, the positives were :
1. The setting - what they built (mostly with effects) was remarkable. The gorge looked awesome, and I loved how they played with colors in the fog.
2. The soundtrack. All of a sudden, Trent Reznor is one of my favorite composers..... that came out of left field.
3. Anna Taylor Joy - I thought she did really well, and they built her up better than Teller's character.
4. The nods to chess and drums. I thought that was a really fun moment for those that it registered with.

I feel like it says a lot that brief glimpses of characters playing drums and chess is a highlight of the film.

Based on the comments it seems a lot of people understood this movie for what it is

It's kind of funny how Sigourney has segued into the Weyland-Yutani corporate boss role in a couple of post Aliens flicks (this one and arguably Cabin in the Woods).
