First of all, I haven't commented on this thread in nearly 24 hours, so all the "devolving" as of late can't be blamed on me.

That said, this was, OBJECTIVELY, a fumble by Trump that any sane person agrees was impulsive, nonsensical, and moronic. His proposal literally made no sense. So merely pointing out what everyone and their dog was already saying did not "devolve" this thread in any way. Never mind the multiple articles and podcast I posted, providing more information and context about this topic than anyone else in this thread, or the hope/gratitude I expressed should Trump and industry leaders actually reach a viable solution.

Rather, what clearly perturbed you and a handful of others is that I dared insult Dear Leader. But I'm sorry, in a thread ABOUT Trump, and his objectively stupid plan that the White House walked back the very next morning, that's fair game.

Get over it.

Folks need to watch what Trump does instead of fixating on every word out of his mouth. He often thinks out loud and spouts off. That doesn't mean it will be implemented, especially exactly how he says it.

But Trump WAS dumb for going on a rampage, without realizing it was stupid, and his own team having to walk it back the next day, and say "yeah, this is not actually happening."

The funny thing is I've actually had really good discussions here with posters on topics where we disagree.

But there's a big difference in folks who have a different opinion but a genuine interest in the topic at hand vs those who just want to yell about why they're right.

This is the go-to technique for f16 regulars. They don't address the issue or question at hand; they just deflect and give an example of something unrelated they feel is worse. I asked him if he thought regurgitating the same thing over and over and over made any meaningful difference, and he did not respond. I also asked him in another forum how many school board meetings he has been to voice his displeasure about trans kids, and he never responded. All hat and not cattle comes to mind.

I am ashamed to admit that I have been spending more time over there, and now the forum shows up on my profile based on activity. I voted for Trump, so I am not a "lib" or a "dem", but anything seen as a challenge to Trump and MAGA is shouted down and ridiculed.

I asked a poster to specifically address the tweets from Trump when he said the economy was booming in 2024 because of his poll numbers, and the opposing tweet recently that said the economy was 100% Biden's, and he had nothing to do with it. Those tweets were pretty dumb and contradictory, but no one could admit that maybe it wasn't a great look and made him look foolish. Most responses were some variation of, "oh yeah, well you libs supported a brain-dead president who wanted boys to shower with young girls". What does that have to do with Trump's tweets, and why can't anyone either admit they were a bad look or even somehow defend him

Here's the thing.

If you move a ton of productions out of Vancouver, CA, they just don't happen. Bad for the economy.

If you tell films creatively they can't shoot in locales like New Zealand and Norway and Italy, and wherever else or else it will cost them many extras of dollars- that can kill projects.

There's a difference between politics, and complete stupidity.
