Personal favorites that I think are underrated and sometimes forgotten:

A Big Hand for the Little Lady (what a cast!)
Payback (Mel Gibson)
Emma (Gwyneth Paltrow)
The Family Man (Nicholas Cage, Tea Leoni)
Get Shorty (but the sequel is awful and should be forgotten)
Matchstick Men
Quick Change (Bill Murray, Gina Davis, Randy Quaid, Jason Robards)
The Whole 9 Yards (but the sequel is awful and should be dissolved in acid)
Head Ninja In Charge

The 25th Hour - Directed by Spike Lee and I think it was one of the first really good movies put out post-9/11 with actual 9/11 impacting its tone and setting (80% on RT)

Goon - Starring Seann William Scott (Stiffler from American Pie) for a hockey sports comedy (81% on RT)

Can't Hardly Wait - Talking about Stiffler reminded me of this; to me the GOAT 90's high school movie and yes, I'm including Clueless and American Pie (42% on RT which a complete joke)

Sunshine - Danny Boyle directed this sci-fi flick and it has a STACKED cast with honestly one of the best scenes (planetary reveal) that I was very happy to have seen in theaters when it came out in 2007 (76% on RT)

JFK

Regardless of any opinions on the act, investigations, and theories, absolutely amazing film. I would wager a lot of folks have never seen it simply because it went against the grain of the official govt findings.

True Romance

So much fun and one of the greatest casts ever assembled. Holds up very well. My 16 year old is really in to 90's music and pop culture and he loved it.

The mirror rant scene is one Edward Norton's best deliveries.

Spike Lee, similar to Tarantino as far as "contemporary" directors, always has that one thing in his movies and the the 4th-wall rant is his. This was better than than the four-part rant in Do the Right Thing and that's saying something.

All-time rant. Classic rant. Nearly 25 years later, still relevant rant.

Coherence - Great mind-f movie. I've watched it no less than five times and pick up something new with each watch.

Talking about the one with Matthew McConnaghy?
I thought it was pretty forgettable. Not terrible, but not good at all.

I almost added Sense and Sensibility to my list. Emma Thompson's adaptation was brilliant. I'll add it retroactively here.

It may not be applicable to the folks on this board, but Green Book. I'm surprised how few people I know have seen this movie. So good.

I had never seen The Accountant, saw the second one was coming out and liked the trailer so watched the first on MAX and I really enjoyed it. Hearing the second one was even better so looking forward to catching it this week in theaters.

Guess I was living under a rock when it came out 9 years ago. Sticking with the theme of Ben Affleck I will throw "The Town" on this list

One of Tarantino's favorite and the cast is really good. William Devane in the lead role with a nice supporting role by Tommy Lee Jones. Also, Rosco P Coltrane is in it but he's FAR from Hazzard County.

Not the full on sarcastic snark Ryan Reynolds now brings, but I love that movie and laughed a lot. No one has ever seen it. Only 30% on RT, but I liked it

Barney's Version with Paul Giamatti might be a movie you haven't seen. If you like Giamatti (and why wouldn't you?), you should watch it.

ETA: The movie was a box office flop, but Giamatti's performance won him the Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy.

And speaking of Giamatti, I'll suggest Lady in the Water as an unfairly underrated film. Whatever faults the movie has (no, it's not on the level of Sixth Sense), Giamatti is not one of them. His performance was excellent.

More than 60 years, but Sahara starring Humphrey Bogart is a great war movie.

I've watched a lot of old, classic movies recently just to see if they held up. Many do not, but this is a great suggestion.

I'll also recommend Casablanca for its surprisingly good script that still impresses today. And High Noon, which both frustrates and satisfies.

I do the same. Indeed, most do not hold up. Some that still do:
Charade (Audrey Hepburn and Cary Grant)
The Conversation (Gene Hackman and a bit role for Harrison Ford)
The French Connection (Hackman)
Papillon (Steve McQueen and Dustin Hoffman)

More recent:
In the Name of the Rose (Sean Connery and that dude that rips off Jack Nicholson)
Citizen x (Stephen Rea and Donald Sutherland)
A Perfect Murder (Michael Douglas and Viggo Mortensen)
The Road (Viggo Mortensen and a bit role for Robert Duvall and some annoying kid)

Hot off the heels of being in a black Mirror episode, and seeing Paul Giamatti's name above, reminds me that a rewatch of 'Sideways' is due.

For a movie that many people seem to have never seen, I recommend 'The Spanish Prisoner' - a David Mamet movie, starring Steve Martin in a role he's never played before or since

And with Spike Lee mentioned, 'Inside Man' can't go wrong for a noir bank robbery story with a twist
...take it easy on me, I'm a normal horn
