I saw the trailer for this before F1 and it took me a while to realize it was Dwayne Johnson in the lead role. It's a very sympathetic character, at least from my view of the trailer. I have zero interest in MMA fighting, but I want to see this.

MARTY SUPREME: Major, exhilarating filmmaking from Josh Safdie. Timothée Chalamet’s career-best performance—he was born to play this guy—with a tremendous Odessa A’Zion leading a superb supporting cast. It’s a wow.

How is that Timothée Chalamet just keeps wowing me more and more with every performance? He is absolutely electrifying in #MartySupreme.

Yet again, you can feel him giving every ounce of himself and then some - a quality this role demands. Chalamet’s Marty is a guy with a… pic.twitter.com/POXymKWKC3
MARTY SUPREME is pure electricity, a relentless surge of maximalist filmmaking. Timothée Chalamet’s career-best performance anchors an ensemble that’s magic. It soars from start to finish, a synth-fueled masterpiece and one of the year’s very best.#NYFF #NYFF63 #MartySupreme

Josh Safdie’s MARTY SUPREME brought the house down at Alice Tully Hall. Breathtaking work all around, including and especially from Timothée Chalamet. LOVED. 🏓 #NYFF

Marty Supreme is sprawling, funny, and outrageously entertaining. Contains some of the year’s most unforgettable moments which had the audience squirming and howling. Timothee Chalamet delivers what might be his most iconic performance. I had a blast. One of the year’s best films pic.twitter.com/15tdCj2z9Z
— Brother Bro (@withbrotherbro) October 7, 2025
MARTY SUPREME is pure Safdie, a panic attack in motion; an ode to ping pong that morphs into a meditation on control, failure, and god. I walked out shaking. Oh, and CHALAMET? Start making room for Oscar gold on your mantle. Easily the most electrifying film of the year. #NYFF62

Marty Supreme is another Safdie masterpiece and somehow even more anxiety inducing than Uncut Gems. This movie is proof Timothee Chalamet is an incredible actor when he’s actually given proper material. Best film of the year and one of the funniest I’ve seen in ages. https://t.co/9dqNOWYPu5 pic.twitter.com/K9AgASuJO3

Marty Supreme — Timothee Chalamet is the capital M movie star we were promised. A 300 mph cannonball of a film that never seems to slow down for a second. Josh Safdie just brought the house down in NY pic.twitter.com/yKSFjUNKXP
— One Gooch After Another (@bobgoochman) October 7, 2025
Josh Safdie reapplying his UNCUT GEMS greatest hits via MARTY SUPREME but on a larger scale in a portrait of purpose post WWII. Timothée channels that CATCH ME IF YOU CAN DiCaprio and Howard Ratner and makes for a hilarious comic performance. Fun and stressful time all around. pic.twitter.com/bmJefwsxdt
— Rendy Jones (@rendy_jones) October 7, 2025
‘Marty Supreme’ is ‘Uncut Gems’ meets ‘The Catcher in the Rye’ meets ‘Jerry Maguire,’ carried by Timothée Chalamet’s best performance yet. I loved it so much.

MARTY SUPREME: Josh Safdie once again finds that mad cap kinetic energy, with a very game Timothée Chalamet. A film not so much about “sports” until it becomes the only thing that matters. Electrifying stuff that played #NYFF like a rock concert.
— Will Oliver (@weallwantsome1) October 7, 2025
MARTY SUPREME: yeah Josh took all that wild Safdie energy with him. To call this a sports movie isn’t enough, this is a manic, madcap odyssey that is as exhilarating as it’s exhausting. Timothee’s star power is so bright & undeniable that it’s basically a supernova. LOVED it pic.twitter.com/Nis0tWcySr

Marty Supreme is an absolute blast of adrenaline and the follow-up to Uncut Gems we’ve been craving. Just as demented and tense, but drunk on the confidence of youth and the arrogance to believe that talent and charm is enough. As a piece of cinema it sure as hell is. #NYFF pic.twitter.com/AKGBIT6hX4
