That looks awesome! I do have some original, wax pack, Goonies trading cards that are sealed/never opened.

Taken in my garage

Great pics! Thanks for sharing. I remember going to the single screen theater in our small town with my sister to see The Goonies. I've loved it since.

I watched it with my daughter a couple years ago with high hopes that she'd love it too, but she was basically like "It's fine." I'll probably try again one day and see if I have better luck with her little sister (I like the little one better anyway ).

Now that I have kids, I always get choked up at the end when Data's dad says "You are my greatest invention." Every time.

More options other than just Astoria/Goonies

The park where they filmed the kindergarten play in Kindergarten Cop is the same place the lighthouse scenes in The Goonies were filmed.

It's a helluva long bike ride from the Goonies house too. Especially on a little girl's bike.

Hah, I posted on that thread, but your photos don't come through for me on my Mac.

We live in PDX and spend a decent amount of time on the coast. You've covered a lot! I recognize Haystack, Ecola Point, the elk in Cannon, Yaquina Head lighthouse and Florence sea lions.

If you haven't, and for your next visit: Oswald West/Smugglers Cove and Sam Boardman Natural Arches are the crown gems of the coast. For Sam Boardman, it's far enough south to add the Redwoods. You can see some of the best old growth in the PNW: Oregon and California.

Excellent! I have not. For 27' we have Crater Lake and that surrounding area as the target. Ill definitely look into this. Thanks

I love Astoria. In the summer its an absolute tourist mob. If you want to go and dont want to deal with mobs, arrive on a Sunday and hangout for a few days. Beware, "Coastie Time" is a real thing and if there are places you want to go make sure theyre actually open.

Was there last summer and wife and I had a vrbo just north of Fort George Brewing. Everything is walkable.

Also a great tiki bar, lots of breweries and restaurants.

Didn't do the maritime museum and we commented we need to do that next time. I have a lot of friends in PDX and always jealous when they pop out to the coast. But if the weather is great the traffic is terrible.

Yeah, if PDX is > 80 deg Hwy 26 becomes 290 during Rita. It's awful.

But... Public Coast (GOAT coast brewery) bought a big farm just outside Banks/Vernonia turn-off. U-Pick blueberries, IPAs, food truck pizza and a band on the weekends. Pretty ****ing awesome way to burn a few hours letting traffic die down.

And always a plug https://ecolaseafoods.com/ in Cannon. 7 year old daughter's death row meal is to tear apart a whole dungeness crab. https://www.cannonbeachhardware.com/ - Screw and Brew is my favorite. So goofy.

I can only read that as e-coli seafoods

With the sourthern access it makes more sense. "Nah, she's home today. Got the E-cola."

This! Oregon coast in general gets totally mobbed (by tourists) during the summer. From Bandon Dunes all the way to Astoria (and through Bellingham)
